I'd LOVE for a remastered Virtua Fighter 2 to be made!!

As good as VF4, Evo, VF5, and VF5 FS are, THAT game has to be the absolute when it comes to pure technical fighting...and the fact that the floaty, "hit'm ten times like Tekken in the air" crap wasn't really prevalent was awesome as well.

    Do it Sega!

Remaster that bad boy and put it on XBL and PSN...that would be a Day 1 purchase for me.

Sonic Fighters, VF2, and Fighting Vipers? Hell, Sega, why not go all out and just give us Fighters Megamix?

That game was a freakin' legend...

also Last Bronx was nice! And think that the Saturn wasn't even a console for 3d games....

Please step your knowledge. VF2 had some ridiculous shit in it, that would make anyone blush. It's still awesome but look up PKG juggle. VF had juggles long before Tekken.

    Settle down, Fem-Boy
I don't seem to remember "ridiculous shit". Of course, it HAS been a while...but really, any "exploits" or juggling was kept to a minimum and was more the exception than the rule.

Either way, I'd like to see the VF series go more in the sim direction and get rid of the ridiculous Tekken-like juggling, bouncing off the ground, light-slaps-pick-a-body-off-the-ground crap gameplay.

    Here's one better:
If they DO remaster VF 2 for a re-release, then perhaps they could fix any "ridiculous shit" that DID appear in it.
The devs have had years to see what works and what doesn't...and they could make VF 2 just a hair more sim-like.

Or perhaps have it as a game option: Original gameplay, revamped gameplay.
This isn't a new concept...fighters have done this before.

Nah, nah, I have to disagree. VF2 had its silly shit, but damnit that's what made it so memorable for me. If they remake it, it needs to be EXACTLY as it is on my Saturn right now (maybe touch up the GFX if possible). VF2 is VF2. If they are going to change the system in anyway, might as well call it VF2 remix or something silly like that.

    I want my moon jumps!!!!

Hehe..ok, perhaps it did have silly shit then...I just looked up some youtube videos.
Hmm...I liked it better in my hazy memory.... :D.

Still, I could go for a slightly revamped VF 2 "Remix" then...but they could STILL have an option to play the original game, then a revamped version...perhaps even with characters from later games, with movesets that fit into the VF 2 fighting system.

Like I said, a "option switch" like that has been done before.
Fighters Megamix on the Saturn is one game that did that...you could have the VF fighting system or play in the Fighting Vipers system.

With the tech these days, VERY possible.
That way, philistines such as yourself can have original, and rose colored goggle guys like myself can have revamped. :p

I think Godeater can tell us all who captured this and posted this online (though obviously there was a lot of generations of VHS copying around the world of this video)!

The notorious(ly awesome) Akira Kid (now known as ShinZ) combo video from Korea!
(Note: no special controllers were used, just Korean layout arcade controls!)

Just a part of the Legend of BUN BUN MARU!

    The match!

It's hard to say over the Internet without sounding like an ass, but it had to be said. You should make it a point to check stuff out, especially about VF since its a lot of fun and filled with stuff you would have never guessed. I'm a VF fanboy too, so it bugs me when people have the wrong info about VF, like thinking this series was ever sim-like. Just trying to help.

I'm guessing this going to have the Arcades version graphics but with Daytona treatment, which would be awesome! I was thinking of buying a Saturn again and picking up the Sega fighters on it to play and bring to tourneys and gatherings, but if they bring up their other releases, I won't have to.

What's important is the love of the game ^_^ And there is so much love for VF2, the game was just awesome and unlike anything before it. It comes out barely after VF1 and it already showed the future of 3d fighting!

That said, yeah, VF2 was not a balanced game and I think the game seems to be much better understood many years after its popularity. But it's still incredibly fun, it definitely rewards skill and dexterity, and it's still a great game! Just not umm... balanced lol.

The game that would change the direction of VF and inspire the appeal of balance in a fighting game and deeper systems was VF3 (at least that's the narrative in my mind).

But VF2 is still worth playing and fighting in!

If Virtua Fighter made me curious about a fighting game made in 3d, Virtua Fighter 2 completely sealed the deal for me. It was the first game to completely out-prioritize Street Fighter 2 for me.

The thing I remember about VF2 was mostly the soundtrack, and folks taking 5 years to land from a jump, and Lau's high pounce being "I'm gonna stomp on you and then do one more stomp because I CAN!!" Would be nice if SEGA found a balance between old-school and new-school. Why be limited to just one format?

    No worries man.
I realize 'tone' doesn't come off very well on the internet.

Thing is, it still could have been said "the info was not exactly correct" without resorting to "step up your knowledge"...that just sounds sassy, internet or no.

    Anyways, its all good though.
I post stuff on the internet as part of "discussions"...I don't post stuff only if I have double and triple checked every single fact, or have lawyers with fact portfolios to back me up.

People that do that just need a goddam hobby...seriously.

And just like ANY real discussion, stuff may be said, like what I originally posted, that may not have been entirely correct, and someone else can then post what is correct, without coming off sassy, like our boy ToyDingo did, and all is good with the world.

Ok, so you're a VF fanboy...that's great. But just because someone got something "wrong" about the game is no need to go into a fallout shelter.

Anyways, I am a gaming 'old timer' and have lots of memories of many games...VF included, and many times stuff in my head is ALOT better than what it really was.
    Just the way it is.

And I am cool with people correcting me, or posting correct information over my own incorrect one....but if its done in an "hey, man, no, it was like this" sorta way, I respect that.

I just don't care for sassy, pompous, I-know-more-than-you type BS...internet or no.

I try to post like I would talk to people...and I guaran-dam-tee MOST people wouldn't dare talk to people the way they post towards them.

Anyways, like I said, it's all good. Intentions understood.
And now that I got all that macho-internet stuff off my digital chest, whaddya say Sega?

Do that damn VF 2, VF 2 Remix, and yea, throw in a Fighter's Megamix 2 with characters from Fighting Vipers, VF, Last Bronx, and some guest fighters from DOA while your at it.

This old gamepad warrior would give you some good ol U.S. dollars for that stuff...

    Get'r Done!

Honestly I would've loved to see ANY Sega fighter over Sonic Fighters, haha. Last Bronx being one of them!

If you guys haven't already look up Soul Blade vs Last Bronx . It's a video by TrojanX, the same dude who did Tekken 3 vs VF 3 vs DOA 2. Man LB just looks TOO BUFF! Especially how breaks down the game, much like he broke down Korea Step in VF3.

Gonna repeat what I just posted on shoutbox...

    Feck - Hope it's a bundle of all three for £15 - £20 ish

Feck - Would be bad to pay £10 for VF2 when FS was around that price

Gonna agree with Femto on Last Bronx, i'd rather see that on XBL/PSN than Fighting Vipers or Sonic Fighters.

Last Bronx was freaking awesome. Because it was released for PS2 (in Japan...) I'm hoping the same will happen on current Gen. But we will see.

I personally like Last Bronx and Fighting Vipers equally. Sonic the Fighters... I actually never played that one before, so I can't say, but I'm pretty sure I like LB and FV more.

Of course... the best solution would be if... Last Bronx was a hidden unlockable in this package :p

Also, I like how Zero-Chan suggested on Twitter that this deal should be called the PKG Package (or as I would call it, "The PKG PacKaGe") :p

    SOO FREAKING HAPPY!
There were very rare times i had played VF2 on the Saturn and in arcades. I had played it on the Saturn at a New Year's Eve get together and one of the kids there brought his Saturn, probably the only time i played it on Saturn, one of the 2 times i remembered playing in the arcade was at a friend's bday party at an ice rink.

Sonic the Fighters or as it is called here in the US Sonic Championship was not that bad of a game at least from my own preferences.

Fighting Vipers I had never played, i never owned a Saturn sadly.

I have a feeling VF2 on consoles will be next year for the 20th anniversary. Anyone else think so?
