Virtua Fighter 2 - Emulator v0.9 video

Hi gang,

For those that do not know, the latest version of the Model 2 Emulator was released last week and now Virtua Fighter 2 is running near perfectly. The only thing that's still left to be included is the physics for the clothes in reaction to the player's movement and forces of nature like Wind.

In celebration for the release of this emulator for we now have an arcade perfect VF2 game running in our own home, I have recorded footage of myself playing the game using Akira Yuki. It's been awhile but not only do I feel super excited playing this game again, I also remember how damn hard the game is.

Who knows, maybe I might hold a Virtua Fighter 2 remembrance tournament together with another VF5 one. We'll see in due time...

youtube user lucisac has various model 2 gameplay clips on his page. I'm definitely getting this emulator when I buy a pc again.

 

breaking news!

it seems the problems a few of us were having (except trojan here, his video lacks fucked up sounds fx) with the sound going all nuts, is that we have an OLD version of the rom. we need to get a VF2 mame 0.129 romset.

trojan, care to share? (preferably all vf2 versions)

hi. you'd be better off checking google for either the roms you want (top two hits are usually right) or look for mame torrents with the "U2" updates.

 

Funny. I'm surprised that you guys haven't uploaded more fighting videos of this game. It would be good to some some good VF2 versus play.

 

the biggest issue really is just that it isn't available for online play. Virtua Fighter's biggest constraint has always been geography (moreso than the learning curve, imo) so....having the game emulated or not that hasn't been overcome.

I'd definitely be uploading versus vids if I could just get the activity.

 

Ironic how the physics and animations of VF2 look better than VF4/5s.

 

Hmmm... VF2 is too old for me. But like they say you can't beat the classics!

 

Another massive bump...

I cannot find a single rom for VF2 that works. Every rom I've tried to use, the emulator says some files are missing.
