And dis r few of the articles
1)April 01, 2002 - Yu Suzuki and AM2 shocked attendees of Sega's GameJam event with the news of a GameCube edition in the Virtua Fighter series to mark the 10th anniversary of Virtua Fighter 1's arcade debut. As previously reported, the game will be an action-adventure game rather than a fighter, and will feature the entire cast from the series.
Sega's press release for the game doesn`t reveal too much aside from a target audience. Sega mentions that the game is targetted to everyone from children to adults, meaning that we probably shouldn`t expect anything too kiddie or too violent. Suzuki commented at the announcement that he`d actualy discussed the game with Nintendo`s Shigeru Miyamoto, which always makes us happy.

We also have what would've been the first screenshot for the game, had we been sitting a bit closer to the stage. Unfortunately, we were far enough away so that our digital camera entered "Digital Zoom" mode when we tried to zoom in on the screen shots Suzuki was holding in his hands, making this the closest we could get to anything discernable:

A sky, a Sun and what seems to be a dialogue box are somewhat discernable in the. Maybe one of the Virtua Fighters is summoning the sun god to come down from the sky and defeat the evil Dural! Anyhow, as we said in our previous article, all we could see from our vantage point were green and red blurs.

2)Years ago, as Sega's Saturn console fought a futile battle with Sony's PlayStation console, a tasty rumor of a Virtua Fighter RPG began circling the internet. That game disappeared, apparently to become Dreamcast's Shenmue.
Or so we thought. At Sega's GameJam event in Tokyo today, AM2 and Yu Suzuki revealed plans for a new Virtua Fighter game to mark the series 10th anniversary in 2003. The game is being developed for the GameCube and will, surprisingly, not be a fighting game.

Specifically, Yu Suzuki referred to this game as "Virtua Fighter 10th Anniversary Special Project." He described its genre as action-adventure in which story is important, and also threw in the term RPG a couple of times. Note that Suzuki made sure to specify that this is not a Virtua Fighter Kids type of game.

Only a few details besides this were revealed. Apparently, the A Button will achieve a kick and there's a power gauge. Also, everyone from the series (there won't be a single character missing) will appear in the game. Suzuki read most of this information from a stack of papers (perhaps a design document) which also contained screen shots. Sadly, we were too far from the stage to see what the game looked like, although we did see something greenish and reddish. Start speculating.

We'll have more as we learn it.

3)In a recent interview with Japan's Dengeki GameCube publication (one of the nation`s 5,000,000 videogame magazines), Sega-AM2 head honcho Yu Suzuki disclosed a few more bits of precious information on the team's GameCube development plans.
The magazine first asked Suzuki to comment on his image of the GameCube as a whole. Suzuki responded, "The hardware design is cute! (laughs). Nintendo has a history as a toy maker, and they've continued that history in their approach to videogames." Maybe that`s not the response you were hoping for, but come on -- the system is shaped like a cube and was originally purple!

Suzuki was asked if he'd had the chance to meet with Shigeru Miyamoto. "Yes," he responded. "It was very interesting. He's very friendly and tells a lot of jokes. Meeting with him was very enjoyable, and I laughed a lot (laughs)."

So why did AM2 go with GameCube in the first place? Apparently, the team's development staff firmly believed in the GameCube hardware for two reasons. One is that GameCube development is easy. The other reason stems from the team's desire to work with Nintendo. Suzuki summed up his feelings on GameCube with the following: "We are extremely happy to be joining GameCube development."

Unfortunately, Suzuki didn't provide too much in the way of details on Virtua Fighter Quest to the magazine. He did mention that the team is at the step of determining the correct balance between RPG and adventure for the game, a difficult task. One interesting bit concerns the possibility of seeing the new game in the arcade. According to Suzuki there is no chance for such a version. Suzuki commented to the magazine, "We are not considering the arcade. It`s only for the home."

Virtua Fighter Quest is due out in 2003 to commemorate the VF series 10th anniversary. It will be preceded by AM2's first GameCube title in the form of Beach Spikers, which we've already played. With the masters of AM2 supporting GCN now, we're expecting some big things even beyond these two titles.

    and dats all I know!

You really know, mate. Future Virtua Fighter might exclusive to one console. Here r 2 shocking Article.

first article has nothing to do with Sega but it's shocking.
1)According to IGN, Nintendo has sold it's 49% of Rare to Microsoft, and Rare is now no longer developing games for Nintendo. Nintendo apparently didn't want Rare any longer because they only acounted for 1.5% of Nintendo's income for 2002. Rare and Nintendo are currently working out who gets the rights to some of the games. These include Perfect Dark, Conker, and others. We'll have more on this as it develops.

2)Sega to be exclusive to one system!
This is from IGN, an extremely reliable site. Anyway, here is what they had to say:

"Sega is reportedly going to align itself with a major console manufacturer very soon. That is to say that Sega, which is currently "platform agnostic," will be buddying up with Nintendo, Sony, or Microsoft, in a very big way, basically exclusive to that system, very soon -- according to a little bird we know. The implications are huge and we simply don't know how far the repercussions will go -- does it include sports, too? -- but whatever Sega does is a big, big deal."

I've compiled eight very valid reasons why Nintendo is most likely the console Sega will choose, if this rumor proves to be true.

    1. Sonic is pretty much an exclusive to GCN

    2. They are giving GCN the best version of PSO, even though Nintendo is the least into online gaming

    3. Nintendo is letting them make F-Zero

    4. Their games sell best on GCN (Sonic, Super Monkey Ball)

    5. Both companies seem very close to one another

    6. Virtua Fighter Quest exclusive for GCN, even after the success of VF4 for PS2

    7. PS2 version of Skies of Arcadia cancelled

    8. GBA is one of their biggest profits machines

    !!!!!!!!

Well i heard that sonic is no longer gc exclusive,an for the past year they have devoted more than 50% of their work to ps2 ive also heard that sony an sega have become close friends and tend to stay close and when SHINOBI /versus/images/icons/grin.gif comes out for the ps2 and sells millions it will really put sega back on the map for good .

I really like sega ever since i was young and i wish they had their own console that could keep up with the big boys,or should i say big BOY.
in the race for the next genration of console wars i think sega should really get to work,i hope they do anyway

    Playstation2
I chose it coz - well no reason, just wishful thinking.
Plus VF will be an absolute NIGHTMARE to play on either the Xbox or the GC controller unless ppl got arcade sticks.

Plus, PS2 is the best selling system so that should be enough of an incentive for SEGA to partner up with Sony.

Dunno, but i'm keeping my fingers crossed.
