Hello. Sorry for my English, but I´m Spanish. I will buy the Virtua Fighter 5 for ps3 and I would like play it with a good stick. The question is simple, what stick is the best one? The Sega one or the Hori one? Thanks.

i think the HGVS from sega. coz sega said it is the same as the arcade one. and i played VF5 and the stick simply rocks.

like I said before. Japan getting VF5 two weeks before the NA ver. lets importers get head start in testing out these sticks.

so by the time the NA ver. of the game comes out: we will already have have tons of impressions helping us chose the better stick

I already ordered my VFHG stick. so I'll be getting it in the same day when it is released. I can't compare it to the Hori stick since there are lots of versions of it. but I can compare it to the VF arcade stick.

The HRAP3 is exactly the same feel as the HRAP2. Only difference is the appearance of colors and carbon fibre-ness. As well as the lack of the turbo switches (thank god). I too ordered the High Grade though. I wanted a break from HRAP lol. Both look great though.

I also ordered the High Grade Stick.
For Evo I use a Hori Real Arcade Pro - Fighting Jam
I am hoping that Sega product will be as good.

Although I'm newly registered I've been checking this place out for a while but since I'll finally be getting my hands on VF5 in a couple of days, I thought I'd register aswell :)...

That aside, I don't know if it's been officially here on the board but apparently the launch date of High Grade Stick has been changed from 15th to 8th of february. I noticed this when I went to preorder the game and the stick from the local game store. I don't think I could endure playing VF on the controller for a entire week :S...

As I live in Japan, I'm constantly going to the arcade (3 minutes from my house by foot /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif ) to battle it out. Due to this, my economy has taken some heavy blows, which will change when I can practice at home *sigh of happiness*

I ordered 2 Hori Real fighting sticks from gamestop because I'm sure to break 1 in a couple of months after the game comes out.

What about the "HORI FIghting Stick 3"? Need a cheap but working stick to play at a friends house until VF 5 comes out for Xbox. Anyone bad experiences with the older versions? Any bad foresight?

I just play VF 5 on PS 3 with a friends console; thats why i want to buy a ps3 stick for the time until autumn...
Just wanna know some opinions about the HORI Fighting Stick 3, based on the older VErsions of this arcade board.

  13. Hi, I'm a newcomer too, just started playing evo recently (still pretty bad, I have no one to play with) but I'm considering getting an arcade stick for VF5. The thing is, I dont' want to pay 80/90 dollars + shipping charges for something for a game I'm probably not going to constantly play all the time, so I was wondering if anyone had impressions about the Hori fighting stick 3 too. Thanks

If you already have a stick for the PS2, then just get a converter. If your not going to be playing all the time, or very seriously, then the converter will save you piles of cabbage.

I would actually try to stay away from converters... I'll try to test it some more when the Virtua Stick is out, but my initial impressions with the elecom converters is that they still lag just a small bit for VF, and it messed up alot of the quick movement/buffering. Maybe it's just that game is different, but in any case, I will be using VSHG or HRAP3 to play VF5.

I've had problems with converters whether it's console to console or console to PC....getting a RAP3 or VSHG will ensure that all inputs are %100 accurate in VF5 and those sticks can double as USB controllers for my PC should the urge to play ST or something else arise.

That being said there is another Hori stick being marketed domestically for the PS3 that is half the price of a RAP3. And should you find yourself getting involved in VF5 the RAP3 and VSHG will be available should you feel you are into VF enough to get a more sturdy stick.

I'm also trying to decide between the RAP3 and the VSHG. My take is that the RAP3 is a proven product based on its history (i.e. the RAP2 is a decent stick). But the fanboy in me wants to get the VSHG since it's a Sega stick supposedly designed for VF5. What I'm worried about though is that not all VF-designed sticks in the past have been good. In fact I hated the Sega Saturn stick and the VF4 Hori stick.

What to do, what to do...

Has anyone actually played with the VSHG stick, either in TGS or some other event? Is it really similar to the arcade? Is the opening for the stick large or small?

Re: Virtua Stick High Grade vs Real Arcade Pro Sti

I'ved tried an older version of the cheaper Hori stick and did not like it. I found the stick to be a little stiff and the opening felt smaller than arcade. I think it's an acceptable stick if you're cost conscious, but if money is not an issue I would definitely prefer the RAP.

Man I need better terms for describing sticks. Smaller opening? Big stick? Tight feelings? I should be posting this crap on a porn forum.
