According to Magic Box, this game is set for release on the 29th of May.

Any VO'ers here? Just found out yesterday that MYKE is part of Sydvoc. Man, this will take time away from VF. I haven't been this excited about games since the import release of DC.

IMO, VO and VF are the ultimate versus games out there. I haven't had the priviledge to try VO's newly implemented 4 player sytle (Force,) and I've heard some VO heads give it the thumbs down, but I'm just dying to try it 4 way. Does anyone know if MARZ will have a 2 player mode ala Operation Moongate and Oratorio Tangram?

    APHARMD RULES!!!

That is beyond awesome. I'll keep a look out for it. I still have VO in storage for my Saturn and sometimes play VOOT on my DC when the mood hits. Unfortunately, I have absolutely nobody to play against. None of my friends ever really cared for the game. /versus/images/graemlins/mad.gif

Now hopefully they'll do a sequel to Tokyo Wars which is one of my all-time favorite arcade battle games.

The traditional versus match (1 on 1) split screen is still in the game. In addition there is a new 2ON2 mode where AI take control of 2 VRs. However, they seem to opt out the iLink (PS2 link cable) so we have to stuck with the split screen , it seems. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

    Here is the official website

Hope I can use the DC twin stick for this game...

Well , talking about SydVOC, I was one of the SydVOC memember , too. Anyone remember this Fei-Yen player ? /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Man, too bad the game won't support link up so that you can play with the screen to yourself. Bummer.

Speaking of Tokyo Wars, Mr. Replicant- VO was Sega's answer to Namco's TW. Namco was/is notorious for copying the Sega pipeline. Being a fan of all things Sega, I don't know if I speak/write in bias of Sega.

You know what's funny? Everytime a new VF is released, a new Tekken is released a couple months later. This has been the trend throughout their history. I wonder why this has always been the case. VF3TB proved this- as a little later, Tekken Tag was released. Coincidence? I'd be surprised if Tekken5 preceded VF5.

Shit, I've made a VO thread a Sega vs. Namco one. Whoops!

No biggie Catch. I'm just a gamer, so I don't care who copies who as long as both are good products. I'm a big fan of the work of Namco and Sega. Tekken 4 is crap and hopefully if they do Tekken Tag Tournament 2 or Tekken 5 they will fix it's glaring problems. For the record even though I was a huge Taka fan I highly disliked VF3tb. When you dislike block buttons and then they give you an Evade button as well, you don't have a good day. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif VF4 was awesome and VF4E is absolutely incredible. This weekend I'll spend a lot of time with Soul Calibur 2 so I'll get to see how the console version stacks up to the rest. Of the 3D fighters out today VF4E is Number 1, Tekken Tag is number 2, and Soul Calibur 2 is number 3. SC2 I can't wait to try because the console version is an updated version from what my local arcade has so I get to see new hit properties and some new moves. We'll see if it's decent.

i remember playing the original on the Genisis it was great and this game's engine is top notch. I'm tempted of getting it myself, but too busy playing evo and too poor to buy it. /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

[/ QUOTE ]Magic Box reported a few weeks back that Namco was hiring people to work on Tekken 5. So for all you cynical people I guess that means VF5 must be coming along nicely.

Wait, I forgot, NAMCO HAS BUCKED THE TREND. No Tekken 4 Evolution.

Namco never specifically stated they were hiring for Tekken 5, merely that they're adding to the Tekken team for a new Tekken. They're also hiring for the Ace Combat team. You can check it out here .

Actually, that means Tekken 4 was such a big mistake that they fired the development crew and are hiring new ones. Hopefully T5 won't be as bad as 4 with a brand new staff...

T4's problems were that they just gave jabs mega priority over everything and walls do not work in a Tekken environment. Those are the base problems.
