want to be off telemarketers list?

    http://www.cnn.com/2003/ALLPOLITICS/06/27/do.not.call/index.html

Within hours, 370,000 phone numbers had been registered, the Federal Trade
Commission said. Officials said they expect 60 million people to register
    eventually.
Consumers can sign up online at http://www.donotcall.gov or by phone west of
the Mississippi River -- 1-888-382-1222 -- for the registry, managed by the
FTC. Nationwide registration by phone will be available next month.

The server might be slow. personally, I am not going to sign up. I have too much fun with telemarketers. hahah

people were signing up at the rate of 100 a second.

I wish we had an equivalent list in Canada.

Yeah, me too. I personally like pretending that I can't hear too well. That gives a great reason to scream loudly and interrupt their sentences.

Or if I'm too busy to be bothered, i'll just listen for about a minute, then ask them to hold on, and put the phone by my radio playing that "lite jazz" garbage that they play when you're on hold. Then I go about my business.

I'll end here. Don't get me started on how to treat tele-marketers. They call much less now then before. Wonder if it's because of the special treatment we give 'em /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif

they love to call when I am just finished cooking dinner for my parents and when jeopardy comes on. So I bargain with them and put them on pressure. SAying, you have 2 minutes before the show comes on. Hurry. then they read as fast as they can and I make countdowns and such. Then always ask for a cheaper price. Many times, I have gotten stuff for free. So they do have the power to change their fees. only wish it worked on dsl.

End of story these are some of the funniest ways to upset telemarketers, I have tried most of them, and the telemarketer almost always hangs up, these are a blast. /versus/images/graemlins/cool.gif
