I was thinking, what if AM2 release a weapon fighting game based on VIRTUA FIGHTER style!!?? [IMG]
If Namco have Tekken and sega got there own VF, and if Namco have SOUL CALIBUR, why not Sega have there own sword for a fight. i know Sega got that TOURNEMNT OF LEGEND a weapon fighter for Wii. but that not what i wish. [IMG]

Soul Edge+ were based on Virtua Fighter style if you ask me.

P, K, G -> 2xS, K, G. Button for block. Hand+guard to throw. Sure, later it's become more tekkenized, but the basics are pretty much VF right there.

A last bronx remake would be good. It was a good games and the characters had personality. I think it would do ok if done right.

If Last Bronx were to get a remake, they'd have to change the timer from 30 to 45... Too many tournament/casual wins were from time out, and they weren't even great matches...

It's been a long time since I heard talk of Last Bronx.

Another Last Bronx would be spectacular, as well as another Fighting Vipers and finally, Fighter's Megamix, but not just AM2 characters.

Try out Last Bronx. I read in GameFaqs.com that they use VF's button controls. Hopefully you are able to find it in Ebay.[/size]

lol.. last bronx. I still have that game. I can't remember who was top. Something was up with that game that kept it from dethroning the original Soul Edge.

Kurosawa was top imo, I have no clue about tier lists for that game though. Make sense if Joe or Tommy was top tier.

Yeah its basically a [G][P][K] scheme, with the addition of being able to cancel any move or string with [G], allowing crazy combos to be done... There's a combo vid or 2 out on youtube...

There's not too much out there other than vids of the game intro... Popy.tv had a video of a Last Bronx match, but the winner ran the clock and did uber safe pokes... And I believe the site is down, so I can't find the vid-- for now...

Man looking at that reminds me of the days when Sega was actually putting in work in their arcade divisions. It's too bad those days of Sega city are long gone.

Seems to be some pretty broken stuff going on in the above matches. Dunno how viable i would have been against a human opponent, but the continual eblow cancels seemed dangerous.

Poor AI, methinks. VF5's AI is a vast improvement and even that falls for my 66p+kp all day.

I remember it being worse than that. Still AI was never an issue. I had someone to play with. In those days I can see it being a problem for some people.

There were ways to stop those cancel rushdowns... They weren't that broken really.. It all depended on what character you had that determined what move(s) you could use to stop ppl from going pitbull on ya...

I'm pretty sure that if a remake were ever in the works, this would be the first thing that would be fixed... And maybe 2 new characters would be released...

Hi All. New here. VF fan since Part 1.

As far as a game with weapons, I think Soul Calibur is a pretty decent game in that regards. Sure, a game from SEGA would be nice, but I for one wouldn't really miss it as I can just play SC for weapons and VF for regular fighting.

And yeah, I remember Last Bronx. i still own it on Saturn. That was a cool game back in the day.

Soul Calibur was ok... Part 2 was the best imo, and then part 1... SC3 was just straight up broken and SC3AE had a few issues. I personally don't like SC4 as much as I want to. I'm not a fan of the new armor breaking/critical finish system. It feels too much like Mortal Kombat now... On top of that, Li Long isn't in the game at all, and instead of adding Star Wars characters and current clones of the main characters, they should have added some characters from SC3 that were actually different (Revenant, Arthur, etc.)...

I personally think that if Sega were to make a weapons based game, even if it wasn't a remake of Last Bronx, it might sell more than VF outside of Japan... And given the fact that they showed a little bit of what they're capable of doing by giving us that vf spoof vid for April Fool's Day, who knows what other fighting game ideas they might want to work on...
