What are the taboos of VF5?

Hi,

I just joined the forums. However, I have been playing VF since the VF2 days on and off. The VF3 days were when I was really engrossed in the game, and VF4 kinda died off, VF5 i'm still gathering money to buy for Xbox360!

I've been surfing the forums and noticed that someone mentioned how Japanese players were confused as to why American VF players didn't just play "normal" VF. And I think I get the drift that /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif crouching /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif's are cheap? Please enlighten me as I want to buy the game for Xbox360.

So I guess what I'm trying to ask is, what are the taboos of VF5? Just like in Street Fighter II where it was a bit cheap to hit and then throw right after.

No VF5 taboos, unless you are playing with your friends with house rules I guess...

Just play the game as you like, don't force your "style" onto other players, and have fun /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smile.gif

Sigh;; That "normal VF" comment had nothing to do with being cheap. If anything, playing "normal" is purposely exploiting all the cheap shit you can.

This game is so balanced, that except for the random online noob that might send you a weird message (Lei-fei has no throws!!!), there isn't really anything you can do wrong.

Well, after more thought, maybe there is one taboo... if you lose, don't try and make excuses, just try and get better.

Sometimes online people get upset if you stomp them after the round is over...that's the only thing I can think of. But that's not a cheap gameplay thing, I guess.

Agreed, don't stomp people at the end of the round. As much as I hate to admit it, that pisses me off a lot. It's just totally disrespectful period. Don't stomp people after the round is over!!!!!!

Dude, you need to get over it. I suggest that we all start stomping everyone after the round just so everyone gets used it and stops acting like it inflicts some wound to their psyche.

And I am not just saying this. Please stomp me after the round. If you can, have your character douse my Lau with lighter fluid and set him on fire. It really doesn't matter a whit. Some people act as though it's like watching someone stomp their puppy. It's not.

DISCLAIMER: Happy Friend does not condone puppy stomping.

Yeah, I'm sure I'm the only one who doesn't like it, BULL SHIT...
I straight up apollogize when I do that by accident in player match. It's akin to spitting in someone's face. It's not necessary, like you said, it doesn't do any damage so WTF is the point? It's only to piss off your opponent and disrespect their game. That's the truth. Why bother if you already won and it doesn't do damage? Insult to injury, that's why...

Happy Friend, that's so easy for you to say with a 99.9% or so win percentage!!! /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/laugh.gif
You almost never get stomped on because you win the vast majority of your matches, that's why you take it so lightly!

I think stomping or kicking after the round is over shows no class. I can lose most of my matches lately (broke it off with girlfriend recently and not staying so much at home. Women in this city are one of the things I like more than VF)[/size] but I will never lose my class.** /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

** Unless I can get to win just ONE of those matches with HappyFriend when we're 2-2, his lifebar almost gone, mine almost all up and HE WINS THE SAME /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/mad.gif

Why not? What is a better way of saying, "I'm sick of playing you and your boring character; can someone else rotate over here?" I can't think of an alternative to it. I wish there was more time after K.O.

You KNOW it only goes up to 3 Sebo /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/frown.gif Even if you input it hoping the game will bug out and give you that extra stomp. I know i do.

Btw, often the round ends and the oponent is still standing. I suppose it's considered bad form to throw them or pull off bounce a combo on the opponent, right?

Play as Jeffry, and after each round press /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and give a big C'MON! And if you want to be fancy, do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b_.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif. I always think stances are the best way of taunting. Ask any Lei-fei, or Shun player.

Whoa dude, I think I will have a no-stomping-Cadorna-rule. I am picturing you there after losing in the fifth round, sans-girlfriend, Lau stomping on you repeatedly, and the bottle of Everclear across the room calling your name: "Cadorna, drink me! Only I can make the pain go away."

The thing is, I usually just hop about like a gangsta bunny rabbit after the round. But I gotta reserve the right to stomp.

If it is so bad, why is it in the game?

I only stomp people I play regularly with, if its some stranger online I just keep doing offensive moves around their downed body. Its kinda fun stomping them... its like saying to the opponent "You don't like being stomped? Better beat me next round!" And when someone stomps/pounces me after the round is over it makes me want to win more so I can do the same to them.

"Stomp" is such a loaded word. I prefer to think of it as a gentle love step.

People once got beat up for throwing?

Did a hadoken get you a purple nurple?

Back in the days On St. Johns you would have got Duffed-out immediately and put into a Nitaku position your damn self. No fuzzy guarding can beat a Razor slice. OInly if you were well known you could get away with that. Too many sore-losers in Brooklyn.

If i respect you i'll kick/stomp you once to finish the attack motion.
Other than that if you taunt me after a bullshit win then i'll violate.
