What music do u listen to while playing videogames

I was wondering who else plays matches with their own music, over the game's soundtrack?

I've talked with Lucky about this before, it personally helps play smoother.

Yah I find music helps while playing VF, I never have the in game music on but whenever I listen to my own music it seems to help.

EDIT: I'd post links to the kind of stuff that I listen to while I play but youtube fails me.

 

I usually do, I gotta bunch of songs on my hard drive n I just play em from there, n yea some songs get me a lil hyped like when the VF2 Akira theme comes on lol.

But sometimes I think to myself "dam I don't want to have music as a crutch so to speak" and wonder what will happen when I go somewhere and can't play with my music. So I switch back n forth from my music to the game music every now n again.

I play a lot of stuff while on VF (manson, NiN, Rammstien), but I've found Chevelle to be the best. Something about the ups and downs of that music helps me keep a good rythm.

 

I have a VF playlist. I remember talking about this with ChefBoy(TrueWiseman)At NYG7.
When I use Sarah, I have a folder with a lot of French Ye'Ye', bolero and of course, flamingo music. With Wolf, I play wrestling theme songs from Noah, ECW, New Japan, WWE/WWF and some NYHC. With El Blaze, I play Chicano Hip-Hop and old school ballads form across latin america like Vincente Fernandez, Rafael Martos and "El Puma" for intance.

With Lei Fei, Eileen, Lau, Aoi, Pai and Shun Di. I play Wu Tang and original scores from Kung Fu flicks. With Jacky, I play the Sean Michael theme song and a bunch of 80's movie soundtracks. With Vanessa, I play a shit load of Female MC's. My favorite one is Queen Latifah's "Who you calling bitch!" With Kage, I play the OST of Last Blade and Samurai Showdown. But when I'm online I have all these on shuffle. I only play them like that when I'm doing quest mode.

 

hhhmm I must be an odd ball then, because I can't play without the game music. As long as it's the right stage like Sarah's(OMG I can't wait to session on her R stage for hours), Aoi's, Jacky's, Goh's and a couple of others I am fine.

I think racers are the only games I can play while listing to my own play list... having the original OST / sound effects helps me submerge myself in the game more, making it more enjoyable. If anyone those things change, I find it highly disturbing for some odd reason.

I'm way past that point now. I'm powered up when listening to music, especially particular songs, I don't lose those particular rounds/matches. Yeah I said it.

Using the regular game soundtrack, I'm thrown off my flow. Some of the R songs are really good though and they need to release the soundtrack to that already!

and that's when I'm just off the controller and doing something else....
