Akira left the Fourth World Fighting Tournament in the semifinals, defeated by Kage-Maru. With only disappointment to show for his efforts in the third and fourth tournaments, Akira began to doubt himself. But one day, as he continued his training deep in the mountains, Akira's gaze dropped to a creek nearby. A single leaf rode the current, and spun around a boulder in the middle of stream, avoiding it neatly. “The leaf spins because it rides the stream, not trying to resist the flow…”

With a new epiphany fresh in his mind, Akira resumed his training.

And now, as his training nears its close, an invitation for the fifth tournament arrives.

“Now, I should be able to hold my own - and more - against him.”
