This is a really interesting scenario for Lau online. Offline if players react slowly to blocked 9p Lau will beat out their 2P with his 2P or another 9P. It happens even more often online but I gotta give Happy props on this: when he blocked my Lau's 9P he evaded my abare 2P [IMG]
Good stuff Happy, this is one of the reasons why I appreciate your yomi [IMG] GGs!

If I do that, it also means I'm gambling with Lau's 9p~
It's a hard decision to make.....

Maybe Happy just realized that slim advantage for him didn't work and he anticipated you would abare 2p right after.
I'm wondering why a sick character can still play so well~ And he was supposed to be dead about 10 years ago!!! [IMG]

Ha ha, Wrong! (I think) This is the rare day when I can correct someone on a technical issue. If Lau gets his elbow blocked and does not do the second punch, and his opponent low punches while Lau tries 9p, the low punch will win.

9p only beats 2p at dis up to a certain dis and elbow blocked is too much. I am not even sure if 8k+g works, but I am pretty certain that 9p won't against most if not all the cast.

Elbow can beat 2p after you block a 9p, even online, but it requires a little more anticipation. You basically have to do the move while the 9p looks like it is hitting. It seems similar to Wolf's 9p+k imo.

After blocked elbow, Lau can beat 2p with 1p+k.

Really? I need to test it next time indeed~
Do you know how many exe frames for Lau's 9p? I have no idea actually~

Hey Plague, greats game but I think my router is going bad or something. It's been turning on and off lately so sorry about those disconnects I swear to god it wasn't on purpose.

Anyway, good games despite the router thingy cause we had like full bars and everything was coming out nice. When I fix this I'll hit you up again as well as seeing in two weeks. [IMG]

Happy_Friend - When playing online, anticipate the 6pp. When you block the first, immediately hit 2p. Do it a hair earlier than you would offline. </div></div>

Here is a match played offline that shows much of the advice below and it is annotated in several places in the video. It was played in early 2007.

    <object width="480" height="295"> <param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/cbmOZXxAsXg"></param> <param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param> <embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/cbmOZXxAsXg" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="480" height="295"> </embed></object>

I think if you anticipate the 6pp you can just duck the high p and throw the opponent.

For a good setup from Koeki you can 4pk, p and on guard you can 4p which will beat almost every attack.

About the 9p use I would not use it at -5 such as in your example of blocked elbow. At -5 I would choose to fuzzy guard except in the situation of a blocked or hit, 3k or 3kp in closed stance. In closed stance you can 66pk which will beat 2p.
