Well, I wasn't trying to bitchy exactly in posting your message. It was just a little incomprehensible to me. Now, I understand a little better. You thought I was wise so you defended the new clever shit that you thought a learned man would do, and the only reason my "stupid shit" worked was because you didn't recognize how simple my shit is. I am doomed to play VF like the rat that flunked out of the Skinner Box. At least sometimes I can steal a win here and there, if only through the sheer force of applied, unknowable stupidity.

Lol, I really don't understand what's going on between Happy and Overfiend but I understand enough to say that both of you have good points.

I think I may be on the same boat as you, Happy. The thing is that when you do the "magic" that you do online, it can be disregarded as "online bullshit" regardless of how good the connection is.
This happens to me too, that's why I can understand THAT part.

But then, I do understand what Overfiend is saying bc I too feel that you get away with more online than you would offline... but, don't we all? [IMG]
We're both playing online so we both can get away with "bullshit", right?
I've been schooled by really good players offline after getting the better of them online.
This is what makes me realize that there is merit to the "well, it's online" excuse.
Players like Dennis0201 and Maddy own me offline but online I can go toe to toe with them.
This tells me: I should't use online as a measurement of my skills.

It seems like when I get my wins (online, of course) there's a lot of players who would say "well, that's just online, if we were offline your bullshit wouldn't work". I have a list of people who have given me this excuse but I won't list them because it would be hipocritical since I've done it too [IMG]
In my defense: I've only done it when lag is bad enough to warrant it. Also in my defense: I don't use this excuse anymore unless the lag is absolutely horrible [IMG]

Then there are players who think that they're better than they really are. I have played certain players (won't name them) offline and beat them so when I play them online and they gimme that tired line: "you only win cuz it's online" I KNOW they're talking out of their ass, lol.
Overfiend is not one of these players cuz offline Overfiend beats me more than I beat him.

Everything else: my name is Paul and that's between yall [IMG]
I would seriously state my opinion if I knew the situation better but I don't... but I do believe that rivalries such as these can only be settled in offline gatherings.
To TRULY test your might, offline is the ONLY way to go.

Hope to see you guys at Plague's next VF party [IMG]

I'm new to the forums, and pretty new to the game. Although by now, I have logged in over more 5,000 quest mode matches lol.

Anyways, I know I suck, but I give it my all. I just have one question...

What is this "cheap" and "bullshit" move set you guys are refering too? I don't want to be labeled as that; so I know what to stay away from.

    thanks

Nah nothing serious Tony i love all you guys like brothers and brother argue...Remember having one player games on nintendo with your older brothers wanted to play double dribble but you played Double Dragon? Im still cool with Happy i hope cuz its nothing personal. I guess it just my new found williness to want to get better i guess. I remember Konjou said the same thing to me in regards of not learning anything from me either a few years ago.I though he was a asshole until i met him in person and i seen he desire of his competitive nature. I just be wanting more from VF i guess since im did'nt by Tekken or get my MW2 yet...Its My competitve Nature...thats why i said with all due respect Happy in the message. No hard Feelings Brother.

sad to say once i get MW2, VF is a wrap so im just trying to get my reps in now.

I would advise players to go about their business however they choose. Everyone has different situations and circumstances, we all can't be gods at VF. Some players can't be bothered to play at a high level, and some can. If you don't like the way players operate online: get offline, get a new hobby, idk, cause you can't force EVERYONE to play the way you'd prefer, especially in the Great VF Depression. The "online sucks you foolish online player" argument, while I agree with it to some extent - it's null and void now. VF has been/is a casual fighter now, Online VF is Ballet Fighter. You gotta step off at some point.

    [IMG] Hi everybody. GG!

Also: I caught the RRODs from all the late night booty-smashin i did for almost 2 years straight non-stop. I am also not inframes or whatever. When I can get another Box I wanna play online some more though. Fiend you are first on my playlist.

Extra Also: Im pretty sure lau's 8kk is non-hit confirmable, but does it naturally combo on normal hit?

There are things that happen online that wouldn't offline. You. I have played a fair amount of offline over the years so I will have to leave it to players who have played with me to vouch for whether I am much stronger or weaker on or offline.

As for me, when online, I try to adjust for what I can do online. For example, if I block Jeff's knee with jacky, I may just throw or P(G) or pk online, unless I predict it and then I will hit 3ppp a little early to not have it miss. So online rewards anticipation in unique way compared to online, as well as adjustments to situations that arise online, ie, judging whether you can stick a move in, just because it SHOULD work.

I never really think of it this way, but do it on the fly because my game is based less on memorizing laws of VF and more on seeing what will work in a situation and trying something different when someone had disabused me of an idea I had that will not work against them.

I have no real beef with SDS, I only playfully tease him to ironically zing him for various seemingly contradictory tones he has struck recently. I apparently amuse only myself, but sometimes, that is good enough.

Here's to Tony! Blessed are the peacemakers for they shall pwneth in the Kingdom of Heaven.

You can own me Tony, and I don't think I can take any advantage of you now, even offline~~ [IMG]
I remembered I did ask you what's the ratio when you played with those good players from east, because I was so curious how they could handled you asshole!! [IMG]

On happy's defense I can say that his style is one of interupting the opponent. May it be mid canned string or recovery from move to move I have played vs him and he has interupted more of the bizzare situations that I can remember. The idea of it being annoying, abaring, cheap, assholish, whatever is just some new puzzle you have to deal with, but it's a style, so deal. My approach was to slow down and play moral and punish his incorrect guesses to max damage and if I didn't well that's on me. To me each person takes the responsibility when they hit the start button and each person can log out if they don't want to play and it's as simple as that. Now leaving dirty messages in the heat of the moment is just someone trying to kick dirt back at the opponent for being so called, cheap. If you know they are CHEAP then remove them from playing you. I mean, you aren't learning anything from them or are you? Some of the toughest lessons or battles in vf I really hated and still hate to this day, but they made me realize I have to solve the puzzle to get better. So in honor of happy, thankyou for playing the way you see fit and helping me get stronger! Without you I could never learn what I need to reach the next step.

    Thanks

It is hard to say anything about one's game, but I do not try to be the Great Interrupter. I would rather just hit someone first with something and have it connect and eventually float or throw them. But if someone does start attacking me, I do my best to hit them to get back the initiative. K_O we have hardly played at all over the years, but I do remember that when you played my Lau the best was when you waited and I kept attacking and would keep attacking and eventually you would get an opening and you are good enough with Sara (and I am bad enough vs. her) that it was hard to stop me in those situations. But it was me invariably attacking that was putting me consistently at dis.

Also, I will abare more against chars I know less well, because when they start, I don't know the best way to handle or anticipate what comes next. Since you play Sara, maybe that explains why I play that way against you.

But I don't know, maybe I am the Interrupter. If everyone agrees, then I will concede the point. Like I said, I do my best to stop people's flow with attacks, but I very rarely in neutral or adv. situations think I am going to let the opponent do a few attacks and interrupt their shit. That's why I eat DMPK like it's going out of style - because I look to either attack or throw ASAP.

Or maybe I should just run with it, and when people start talking I'll interject with, "I'm the Interrupter, Bitch!"

Never said I wasn't SDS. As a matter of fact, I am the substance of all complaints and love to complain when things don't go my way. Tell your friends and children to never be like me ever! Also, nobody said I had to hold your hand and be your friend in carebear land did they(friends forever)? It's a freakin fighting game, so fight me!

Thought I mention some styles I know:
Abare(Yes, this is a true style and sucks big balls, but it's still known as a legit style)
Poison(Repetitive move over and over until opponent answers it. i.e. sarah's sweep, lol!)
    Turtle(Zoning space and strong defense)
Unseen(Mostly oddity gimmicks used for tournament play as last resort)
Moral(Plays by the rules and hopes opponent does as well, lol!)
High Risk(Looks for more damage by taking some damage, risk vs reward)
Stepper/Whiff Baiter(Looks to lure opponent into trap by antagonizing, mocking, demeaning etc)
Confusion(Random sparatic moves that are done offbeat to what is considered normal pace)
Misc-Of course a mish mash of all the above mentioned.)

Not just the true vf asshole
just try and break my record!

I'm a High Risk Moral Poison Stepper

I choose a different poison each round and let it burn slow. I punish you by the frame, and I take monster risks when I have the guess. I also instigate with every movement I make in game.

    Sup bitches.

GGs VFNumbers - it's weird playing ranked again after taking such a break from it. I missed your Lei though.

Also GGs to HappyfriendLau - I think I got your name right. I always appreciate being trained and reminded that 100% offence isn't the best approach.

ggs to AssassinCP, ur goh is still a mismatch to mine. Funny i expected the play to be less even but the results to be more even. I know i couple things i need to do differently. Hope i can play more games against u and work on it. Nice use of 33p, BTW.
