My recommendation to players that don’t know what is a good delay setting to set. This is based on me playing on a fiber connection:

• Local players - 2 or less delay setting is quite feasible to play (30 or less ms ping)
• Halfway across country - 3 delay setting (100 ms or less ping)
• Across country or continent - delay setting 4 or more (greater than 100 ms ping)

Note that the game currently forces people to play on the lowest delay setting between the two players. If you set it to 3 and opponent set it to 1, the match will be played at delay setting 1 for both players.


Players can adjust delay setting within the created room they are to play. So it is possible to just check your connection to each other and agree to a setting and adjust within the online room.
