Digital vs Physical - ... die by the sword

The holy grail of game creators that is digital copy is killing game creators as well.
"live by the sword, die by the sword"

Why?

Physical Copy World
1. you buy a console
2. you buy physical Virtua Fighter
3. you play Virtua Fighter
4. a new VF on a new platform is released
5. you buy a new platform
6. you hand over the old platform with living VF to nephew/stranger/somebody
7. nephew/stranger/somebody has a chance to become a VF player

Digital Copy World
1. you buy a console
2. you buy digital Virtua Fighter
3. you play Virtua Fighter
4. a new VF on a new platform is released
5. you buy a new platform
6. you hand over the old platform that is sad, bare and empty to nephew/stranger/somebody
7. nephew/stranger/somebody either buy games or he/she finds empty console boring and finds a better entertainment
