Rampant Cheating?

Okay, in gamer terms, I am old guy. I love VF but hate FS--even though it's the only VF I have been able to play for a decade now. I'm very out of the loop in terms of what is going on in Gamer Land, but I have to ask: is there rampant cheating going on? I play people who I played with years ago, but now they have super human struggling ability when staggered and they can back dash/evade cancel so fast it makes my PC actually glitch out. Is it so bad that even old heads are just brazenly cheating now or what? Should I cheat too? I don't even know how to and honestly, I think I'd quit first b/c I'd feel like a bitch. Apparently other people just want to win at all costs, but I'd rather lose honestly or just find another way to spend my leisure time. Whatever is going on here, I hope that SEGA can design VF6 so that this bullshit won't be an issue.

You might have to adjust the game's performance settings until the game runs at 60fps.

One of the artifacts of rollback netcode is that if your opponent is playing properly fast with dash cancels and fuzzying in a lot there are more chances for an input to get caught in rollback and on your side they will appear to stutter/teleport around more. That's not cheating, just a compromise of the netcode to allow for smoother overall games.

Also, we now have replays, you can just check the inputs in the replays (which won't have any of the rollback artifacts) and see what they're doing.

If your computer can't run the game at sufficient frame rate, its not going to be a good experience. That's one thing.

Another issue is the rollback and delay. Basically if a rollback happens, stuff on the screen seems to jump forward or backward and is also not great. Moves that already hit seem to have gotten blocked on second try etc.

But you should have a delay setting set in a way that rollbacks dont visibly appear on screen. I personally use 3 frame delay, and don't play matches with less than 3 bar connection. This means that if a rollback happens, it got hidden in the delay and the game looks smooth to you. Somebody playing with a wifi connection might still cause rollbacks even if the connection quality looked good though.

As to the cheating, there's been some rumblings about people using macros, which I consider 100% cheating, but Im not aware of actual proof yet. Ive not encountered any that beat me because of macros. Then again, I play at the top30 level in EU. Now that we have replays, you can go back to check the replay if opponents inputs are too exact and similar.
