Rising recovery refers to when the player is already on the ground and then gets up. This testing was done at the behest of @Combolammas mostly with regard to Wolf's 62K CH, 3P+K situation. For those interested, it takes 8 inputs in a 15-frame window (tested only with Aoi vs Wolf) to back roll out of the 3P+K follow-up. You can watch a video demonstration.

    Core Information Summary
    • Inputs are handled pretty much identically to stagger recovery, with each input reducing recovery by 2 frames instead of by 3.
    • Button inputs reduce rising recovery on the next frame.
    • Directional inputs reduce rising recovery on the same frame.
    • Diagonal to Cardinal results in one input.
    • Cardinal to Diagonal is two inputs if an adjacent cardinal is not input after the cardinal.
    • Button followed by a button on the next frame counts as one input.
    • Button only followed by a direction on the next frame counts as one input.
    • G and K overrides P input for rising recovery action no matter when it is entered in the input window.
    • G and K are equal priority for rising recovery action. The later input will take precedence.
    • K can be input any time after the rising recovery input window to get a rising attack when rolling. This does not apply to in-place rising recovery.
    • K must be input during the rising recovery input window to get a rising attack in-place.
    • To properly get a roll, the direction must be held for at least two frames.
    Detailed Information Summary
    • When testing with Aoi's 33P+K NH launcher, there was a 12-frame window to accept 7 inputs for fastest rising recovery. 6 inputs would result in a one- or two-frame delay (depending on if it was Jacky or Aoi).
    • There are different window durations and recovery durations for characters/knockdowns. I have only tested Aoi's 33P+K against Aoi with some limited testing against Jacky and Wolf's 62K CH against Aoi.
    • I have a suspicion 7 inputs are the standard requirement for fastest rising recovery with some exceptions (for example 8 with Wolf's 62K CH).
    • I need to do more testing against side roll and back roll recovery to verify there are no differences between all three types of rising recovery.
    Testing Information
    • All testing was done with Eddienput. I have attached the playback files forming the basis of my testing.
    • The first step is determining when a character can be hit by an attack on the CPU settings of fastest recovery.
    • The second step is determining when a character can be hit by an attack when there are no inputs (use a playback recording of just neutral input).
    • Finally, narrow down the input window until only 8 inputs (4 direction and button combinations) are needed. Shift the input window to determine the beginning and end of the window. Reduce the inputs to determine the minimum amount of inputs needed for the input window.
