Virtua Fighter will be present at this week's Tokyo Game Show 2022. Three JeSU-pro licensed players--Shiwa, Barugo, and Bita--will be present to play with attendees. While the VF exhibitions will not be streamed there will be a SEGA NEW special broadcast on Friday, September 16, 8:00-8:50 pm.

Finals for the first Challenge Cup of Season 1, this Saturday, July 18th, 2022! This is part of Sega's official online and offline events for Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown (Virtua Fighter eSports in Japan). Season 1 features three Challenge Cups and ends with a Pro player event in 2023.

The Virtua Expo 2022 is a collaboration between OReikhalKos and Tetsuko no Heya (Tetsuko's Room). It is a combination of online and offline events that includes same character tournaments and a 5on5 team tournament. Translated from Tetsuko no Heya's Website, "It may not be like the Shibuya Virtua Expos of the past, but I hope someday the Virtua Expo 2022 will be a step toward offline events in the future."

The 3rd Japan Fighting Game Publishers Roundtable will be streamed live on March 21st, 3-5:30 PM JST on both the VF Official Youtube Channel and on the Arc System Works Twitch Channel. This will be the first time Sega participates in the Roundtable. You can expect each company to give an update to their fighting game series in this Roundtable.

A new year so let's try again to summarize the VF tournaments/events around the world! We celebrate the new year with a massive 5-person online team tournament organized by Tetsuko's Room. January 2022 also marked the beginning of the 2nd Challenge Cup series and North America had its first major offline event at the Frosty Faustings!

Last Updated: March 15, 2022 Update - The 2nd Challenge Cup is Sega's official VF5US (Known as VFeS in Japan) events for Japan running from January to March 2022! The Finals for the FREE and U22 categories this March will conclude the Season 0 events! Since the 1st Challenge Cup, several changes have been made to the format.

On Sunday 5 December 9 PM Japan time there'll be an all-female team tournament. This special exhibition tournament, organised by @Tetsuko_Yamada, will feature 4 teams consisting of 5 players, facing off in a Round Robin format. Prizes are up for grabs and the event will be streamed so be sure to tune in and show your support!

VF5US is one of five games nominated for The Game Awards best fighting game category! People can vote online for which games they want to win for 30 different categories. You sign up with either Twitter, Facebook, Google, or Twitch account to vote.

Sega's finale to its first Challenge Cup will be streamed on October 10, 2022 2 PM JST (12 AM CST or 6 AM GMT+1). While the qualifiers and playoffs were done online, the two U19 and 16 FREE finalists will compete in an offline environment with no audience (due to the Covid-19 pandemic). The finals will be a single elimination, first to win two games tournament.
