Sega's first official online tournament for the Virtua Fighter esports in Japan. 118 players* will compete in a best out of 3, double elimination bracket. This is not a common format for Sega of Japan's past tournaments in the Virtua Fighter series. Broadcast of the event will start around the 10th round of Losers Bracket to the Grand Final on Sunday, July 18, 2021, 6 PM JST.

At Evo Japan 2020 VF5FS was held as an official side tournament. It was capped at 64 entrants, heavily stacked with local Japanese talent and saw a thrilling Grand Finals played out between rising star Shiwapon and the legendary Homestay Akira! Shiwapon emerged as the Evo Japan 2020 Champion, showcasing his talent with a variety of characters during the top-8. Now, more than a year later, it's time for the runback! A FT10 revenge match exhibition will be streamed live this Friday, 18th June 2021 at 20:00 JST. Details inside!
Less than two hours ago, Sega live-streamed an announcement and in depth look at the upcoming Virtua Fighter x esports (Or Ultimate Showdown, as it's known outside Japan). The full stream lasted just over an hour and we have an in-depth breakdown of the main points covered.
We're finally ready to announce VF Global Showdown, an international tournament taking place during Q4 2022. The tournament will feature a top 8 from EU, NA and Japan. Those who qualify will be going to an offline final which will take place in Scotland at the end of 2022. The winner usually accepts on good faith terms, indulging the loser's chance for redemption with a quiet confidence that it's all in vain. In the Japanese #VirtuaFighter scene, a similar concept exists by the name of the Sendai Rule.

The 2nd Ankoku Bujutsu-kai (Darkness Martial Arts Tournament) will see its final 8-man tournament held Sunday 23 August 2020. As a result of major offline events being cancelled due to the pandemic, this online-only event in being organised and hosted by Tetsuko and Homestay Akira.
