lol, no reason to bash yourself. what youre experiencing now, everyone on this website has experienced at some point. the only difference between the good players and the not good ones, is that the good players kept practicing and learning, evem after reaching that point of frustration

its less self bashing more realization that my mind cant keep up and i tend to fly on instinct rather than watch the screen (it doesnt happen in soul cal 5 or xenoverse but only in vf) i just for instance had my comp record myself over skype and my eyes became literally unfocused and i was on full auto pilot looking but not seeing if that makes any sense

Im still going through the same BS... I'll break a barrier and start playing better than i ever thought i could, then have school and i lose that edge.

Blackstar is right Sin. Other fighting games do not compare to this one. In other games such as Tekken, Soul Calibur, etc. It's very easy to go on instinct alone and win because of it. But here, VF tests and make you use your mind to outwit your opponent using the certain skills and moves your character has.

well, vf is a fast and deep game. theres alot to keep track of, and DEFINITELY more to keep track of than sc5 (i was a soul player before a serious vf player) or xenoverse. keep playing, and eventually the game will slow doen for you.

Then i get a break from school and can play again, and I have to work again just to get where I was. But, then my school break is over and i cant play for a few months and im back to square one. And the cycle continues over and over and over again. Its infuriating.

It takes a lot of practice to learn one character before even learning a second. Try to think more during matches, study other people and characters, and go to dojo to find ways to outwit them.

But, that is no reason to give up trying to become a competitive player. Instead of trying to learn by playing online, try to find a "mentor" Someone who is willing to teach you (and actually has an idea of what the fuq they are doing) the basics. (Bstar, im still crying tears of joy in your honor. Id have been lost without you)
