I wouldn't mind having (some of the) items by unlocking but not the way it was handled before. Getting all gear for one character in 5 vanilla was tedious, slow and boring. Several days of grinding vs CPU for just one characters gear, meh.
I see your point I guess I miss the sense of accomplishment you got in vanilla. Since I didn't even know about online or anything I played alone for like ever!
yeah it was more fun and make the game longer to play ,i remember doing the balloon trick many times just to get eileen pigtails but didn't know that it was not in PS3 version! ,you must get an odd win/loss record such as 13/3 or 15/5 to show up the balloon , it mostly works with 7's, the VF4EVO items obtain style was challenge and more ways to get items like Tournaments and Training Mode Items,Dunce and Curse Items
Prize Matches in all colors ,brown ,silver, gold, ice, fire! , Orb Items and arcade Mission Items Win a round in under 10 seconds , Break 4 walls , Win match rounds Excellent! ,ranking items or 100 losses to get black color! and all these just for 78 items for sarah! others have 50's! it's made me feel like i am playing for ages!
the VF5FS would have quest mode but they cut it out due 2gb xbox live but at least they should made quest mode dlc but they didn't , characters customization dlcs make more money , i wonder how it will be if vf5fs have vf4evo items obtain style it will be like forever to get all the items&colors!
Well, that's the thing with quest. At least for me having went though the trouble of getting all items for one character I couldn't give a flying fuck about unlocking them for anyone else. It would be okay if you only needed to go on about it once.
As for evo quest having those missions, they were kind of cool but it annoyed me to no end that they were not all active at once and instead one at a time. The extreme was the break walls quest. You can't really do that in many stages so why the heck couldn't I do something else too while I'm at it instead of the game basically forcing me to repick fights to end on the right stage.
Now that you mention it it would have made more sense to unlock stuff for other characters as you went along quest mode as well as your own. I wish I could have played evo more I was way too young to know what I was even playing!
