the reason wh I didn't answer if we were gonna use crt's or asus' was because I didn't know. I didn't know until week of that ALL games, except smash, were gonna be on the asus'.

 

Congrats Johoseph! I agree that more EC players should have made it to the event. There is no excuse on my part other than poor planning.

Had a lot of fun here. Wish we had a little more room, but the venue area was at least bigger than the old one.

 

Good games to everyone that I played. This was a fun tourney and I enjoyed getting to play some VF again. I wish people in my area played so I could be a little better. Thanks for the whole results and thanks to Jaxel for the uploads.

 

The event was great; it's always nice to see VF at a major fighting game event (never mind that I think I've seen every FG ever made run at NEC throughout the years). Thanks to Hubbs for running the bracket, Jaxel for manning the stream (and putting up with my commentary) and everyone who showed up.

I do wish more people came, though. I really did want to play the ECs best, and a bunch of them didn't show up for one reason or another. :< Everyone should try to make it to Final Round; it's also a really good fighting game tournament (and the second biggest one in terms of people, behind Evo). Start saving a dollar or two every day if you have to.

 

I would have came to this event but I only foubd out about it on short notice like 1 day notice before the event and also I am looking for shidosha and you already know why lol.

GS Joho and Joho victims! David you definitely were the wild card, I truly thought you were gonna pull that one out.

I wanted to go but I kinda denied myself a ride, by depending on another, yet undependable ride. Although, people I know did pretty well. I PROBABLY wasn't gonna enter VF, but I think I want to start playing again. If I can customize Kage to look like Strider then I'm in there.

EDIT: I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one who would prefer, if not indifferent towards playing on a CRT. 99% of the time people are complaining about playing on a LCD since they all lag.

 

I always thought WINBACK was white, despite the general rule if the FGC, lol. Still not finished watching, but thanks for having replays!

I'm trying for Final Round and EVO. Main or Side-tourney, I'm just trying to VF!

 

My suggestion since you're West Coast- save up for the east coast supermajor- that is likely to be bigger than FR. That should be in Sept/Oct.

 

FR is in like two months though. That's a long time between events to save up some cash for the next east coast majorish event. It's funny, but the most major east coast event we have is Stickbug's monthly.

VF needs to establish it's own majors. Piggybacking on other communities majors is great to, but we still as a group need to decide which events will be considered majors for us, that work out for the community too.

Yea there should be one big event for vf like superbawl or wrestlemania.

 

The only VF centric Event in recent memory was the South Town Arcade series. I'm so sad to see that place shut down.

 

How about the new east coast super-tourney for declaring it the VF major? Would be a new event- they'll want games. Problem is we'd need a pot bonus of some sort.
