2 arcade questions

I've got 2 questions about VF in the arcades in Japan:
    (1) How does one acquire orbs in the arcade, besides from other people (where do they originate?)
    (2) It looks like you can choose the stage in VS. mode in Evo, isnt that somewhat unfair as players like Kage would have an advantage playing in no ring stages, or do people not really make a big deal about?

1A: For Version C (which is no longer in Japan) you got them from the following:
1: Stealing them from someone else
2: Deriving it yourself. There's no set way to derive them, but the chances of them popping up are highest when you a) update your card (after the 500 turns are up) and win against a high-ranked (5-dan or higher) player, b) beat someone who's got a several win-streak against dan-ranked players; c) same dan-level fights. Sega upped the frequency of orbs last April...4 months before Evo came out.

1B: Generally the same rules as above apply to EVO, however you can only steal an orb if you have one yourself. This prevents people from getting an orb, then storing it on a card they don't use.

2: Stage select is set in the bios, so it depends on where you're playing. Most places don't have it though, for the reasons you mentioned.

Gaijin correction, version C can still be found in Japan, Zerochan told me about arcades that have it set up for really cheap so you can play it to while away some time till an evo machine becomes available.

speaking of cheap arcades in japan there is an arcade in ekoda that has 2 evo machines going at 30 yen (3 out of 5 rounds - 45 secs)!!! there is another arcade in the area that has ver. c for 20. but as you can imagine, the lines are long and the competition is totally stiff - all 5 - 8th dans with hundreds if not thousands of games.

Well, even though Corey Haim & Corey Feldman still make movies, I'd say they are 'no more'. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif
