It's a sweet car. Too bad it isn't slated for production. Honda's too conservative.

they make about 20 concepts a year, only 1 makes it, and there's a ton that should have made it to the market. Id like to see this car on the streets, pretty nice, but i still perer the Nissan Skyline GT-R

thats true. most concepts are just that... concepts. i know this one will never make it to the streets. Honda was just experimenting on how far they could go with the new TL. 300+ hp (the most power Honda has ever produced =P) and 21-inch rims, im impressed.

and as for the Skyline GT-R... correct me if im wrong but i think the reason it isn't sold here is because it doesn't meet the tight regulations =(. the closest thing to a Skyline here in North America is the Infiniti G35 (Nissan Skyline V35 i think). the next gen GT-R is said to be coming over here though... im looking forward to it.

actually the reason its not sold*well the one i HEARD was it* was cause its japan only car. AND, that car is so damn fast. i mean with shipping and the car costs, its like 110,000, but that car hooked up, with blow anything out there*excpt a damn well hooked up mclaren F1* it comes twin turbo.

R-34 GT-R is an awesome car. It's not a supercar however. It's similar to Twin Turbo Supras or the US model WRX STi.

It wasn't sold here because cars like the Supra, RX-7, 300ZX, and 3000GT stopped selling well.

It's too bad. It probably would've sold for about $30,000 - $40,000 if it had been made available by Nissan.

it may not have sold well there, but for drag purposes, when ever serious competitors can, they get the skyline GT-R.Ive talked to one of the nissan designers*a friend* he's told me, that he'd love to have that car, as in most of nissan's NOPI cars are GT-R's. idk why id sell bad back than. w/e. but hell for 110,000 you could get a porcshe 911 twin turo at a discount price.

    I don't understand what you're saying.

I said they projected it wouldn't sell here in the US. What do you mean by "there?"

I know that drag racers (Japan or US based), often modify their GT-R to make over 1000 hp. I guess non-serious competitors just back-halve 900hp Supras, then. /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

I imagine $110,000 would get you a MotoRex or RBMotors imported R34 GT-R VSpec II with a couple good mods (they only want 85,000 for a stock one). You could probably match the Porsche's performance and be a whole lot more unique while doing it.

your right. maybe it's made only for Japan. and yeah, it doesn't meet regulations (i just don't know what regulations though /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif). i don't think it would sell well here either. it's way too expensive for a Japanese car. i thought it was only $70K /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif. personally, i would rather get a nice little Porsche.

kungfusmurf. i was surprised Chrysler had the guts to make a car like that.

theres more information about Chrysler's supercar at Autoweek. here it is: Pics of this 850+ hp monster! and article. the only thing i hate about this car is the rear-end. Ugh! but then, that's just aesthetics. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

there's also a new Shelby Cobra concept: pics. There's no story so far. I'll post it when i see it.

The only info they have on the Cobra is that it's "a front-engine, 6.4-liter, 10-cylinder powered roadster pumping out 605 horsepower and 501 lb-ft of torque without supercharging." pretty sweet. hopefully, they'll produce it.

This is kind of off the point... but i don't consider street drag racing a serious form of racing. You are just racing with your wallet in 99.9% of the time. For $110,000 you can get tons and tons of cars that would be faster than the GT-R....... for owning 99.9% who taking drag racing seriously.....
