the thing that still preventing me from buying a 360 is the lack of controllers and sticks to chose from.

so what are there any good 3rd party 360 controllers and sticks available?

    I hate that D-Pad

I've heard the xps is a bit buggy. Not sure how good it will be for VF.

Ideally I'd use my PS3 stick. Has anyone announced a converter yet? I can't imagine they would have, but you never know.

Reminds me of the Hori Fisghting Stick 3. I would bet that the guys on this stick are soldered as well.

The stick looks like it's an inch too close to the front of the base....maybe it's just the perspective of the photograph, but to me it looks like the position between the buttons and stick is different than a VF arcade cabinet.

Are there any actual traditional control pads for the 360?Like everyone else I can't stand the 360s direction pad and it's placement.I also kinda prefer a pad over a joystick since I can't really bring a joystick to friends houses without using my bigger carrying bag.

If it's like the FS3 that I have here, my biggest beef is that the stick is so close to the edge that I can't place my palm down comfortably.

Are there any with directional pads that are actually placed on the left of the controllers like the PS2?Having an analog stick in that spot is incredibly awkward to me.

Image update on the VF5 360 stick on EBgames&Gamestop sites,
no idea if it's official or not since I didn't find any picture of the stick on the (jp)Hori site yet...

360 VF 5 hori stick art?

btw can anyone comment on what the future 360 VF player should do:
-buy this VF5 stick (button&stick layout? what parts are in it? mod-able?)
-buy the shitty DOA 4 stick (better, same, worse or as this VF5 stick?)
-buy XFPS convertor + High Grade Stick (what about lag? anyone tried this yet?)
-buy ticket to tokyo & go to the arcade for the same price as the last option;)

Have you even tried it? You'll get used to it.

I remember the 1up guys were talking about taking off the D-Pad of a 360 controller and filing down some part. It seems to do the trick, but I remember it on 1up Yours in retrospect.

I'm just going to buy the VF5 stick and mod it, since apparently it's just a FS3 (ugh) and the DOA4 stick is not only the same, build-wise, but hard to find for a decent price. cost-wise I think this will be the best option for everyone unless they're fine using the basic stick without modding it.

I was looking around and didn't see any mention of PS3 compatibility with the XFPS, just PS2. Is there another version or maybe I'm missing something?

well i am kinda in similiar situation as I am a straight pad users for ps3 and ps3 controllers. Adapters to 360 will cause frame lag as the input wont be immediately. And I never got use to joystick and only controlled joystick three times in my life. Guess its finally time i give in and learn the joystick :(.

    same here.

im just going to buy it, beat on it and mod it eventually.

for pad users, there is supposed to be a d-pad mod that makes it 100% better. (google around for info or try shoryuken maybe)

I´ll first try this option: d-pad mod before I decide if I have to look for another joypad or a stick.

I am really looking for some test info on the XFPS, since that would be my perfect solution.

    I own a:

    Hory VF4E for PS2
Hory Fighting Jam RAP for PS2
    Hory RAP3 for PS3
    Sega VSHG for PS3

Still I don't have a NextGen System, but I would feel terrible using a medium stick (for X360) when I own stick perfection aka VSHG.

The problem is that even if I find a review of the XFPS, it won't do, I need test information for VF5. I don't know if someone is considering this experiment when the X360 version comes out, but maybe a small group of stick users could gather and buy the thing and test it.

I would do just that here, but I am the only player that simple can't play with a pad. So my friends prefer to adapt (to pad) instead of paying for a possible solution. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cry.gif
