3k+g > 6p+g has horrible stats: 24 frames, -16 on guard and -4 on hit and is only real good on counter hit when 6p+g hits. Still when I was playing around with this move yesterday, when I played some friends it gave really good payoff. I still have not identified when/why it worked.Anyone have any good ideas / theories as to when 3k+g should be used?

It's not a move I use often either. Although it ducks highs and is half circular despite its shitty stats. It's good move to throw out on aggressive opponents. But you get really good damage off it, which is fair(70pts?).

If it hits on normal hit -4 is a good time to use some of gohs sabakis and Low punch cut.

I say go for it... 70 damage is enough to make up for the stats. Plus if it is half circular it is good against evades. Maybe throw it out when you blocked an attack that leaves you advantaged. That way you can punish their abare big time if they decide to do that or you can catch them evading possibly too. Having a hit throw on that move just makes it better. You're not gonna counter hit every time but when you do, you can hurt them pretty bad. I'm trying to find places to use 66K+G. After a stagger with the shoulder check I think you can freeze them up with this and then throw them whether it hits or they block it. Their only option there is reduced to just ducking. I also try to go for P>K>back-turn here too. If they try to abare the BT I just do the P>K>BT again then try to throw anticipating they will try to block a third P>K>BT...

If you're good at timing the hit throw, the thing can work wonders on eating wake up kicks. Sure as hell gives your opponent a shock.

Well...it looks cool, and is demoralizing to the opponent.

But it's hard to pull off, I usually only try when I'm far away. Some success there, but for some reason the hit-throw part is harder to me when the person is further away (maybe timing is different?) Otherwise it gets interrupted by pretty much everything.:(

it only activates if you land the kick in fairly deep.

Huh, I didn't know that. No wonder.

Well, that's another thing that's bad about the move then...hard to tell at what range it activates.

The only reason this move is to ever be used: It looks cool. The end.

I'm not sure that this is true... I just think the case is that the deeper you land it the less active frames you have to input the throw command. If you hit with it from far away, maybe you're on the last hit frame and you literally only have 1/60th of a second to enter the throw command...

    Just a thought...

I thought it looks like: if you land the throw, regardless of the range you hit with any of the hit throws, Goh kind of teleports into the right spot for the animation. At least for the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif he will teleport in a little for the animation to happen. I haven't been able to pull it off when I hit very shallow though, like Outfoxd said, unless my timing is just messed up when I go for the shallow hit into throw.

    Pretty much.
    ---

In a game that is basically mid-throw, finding a chance to use it is quite hard. Against opponents that use highs a low is a good place, but they'll wise up.

I'd rather use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif hit throw or even just /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/db.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif.

It's okay. The problem is all is hit throws require CH. Apart from /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif.

Shame really . There's no particular science using the elbow and low sweep hit throws.

Honestly, I use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif more than those two.

It works great against DM attacks too. /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/grin.gif

I always liked Goh's 3K+G sweep: reminds me of Bruce Lee's films Chinese Connection & Way of the Dragon where Lee also performed this move.

It's good against shuns back-turned arm wavy move that sabakis everything also.

and I don't understand why people dislike this move, I think it's his best hit-to-throw move.

Yeah, was gonna say that 3K+G is great vs stance chars. Just have to be careful and watch out for hopping type moves.

Also nice to throw out if you know they're gonna do something it'll duck and counter.

I did a little testing in dojo mode on Goh's 3k+g hit throw. The 3k+g hit throw won't come out any farther away than where you are when you start the round. You can tap back once for a fraction of a second and still land it but any farther away and it won't come out. Basically the distance you start from in dojo mode is the absolute farthest away you can be and still land 3k+g>6p+g...
