[7 Dec 2012] East Coast Weekly Rooms (XBL Online)

VF5:FS Weekly Rooms

In an effort to promote some more online VF I'm going to start hosting weekly (or bi-weekly, depending) rooms to get some Final Showdown fighting in. Not strictly prohibited to East Coast players, but for VF to be enjoyable I highly encourage keeping the area of players kind of tight.
EVERY FRIDAY AT 9PM A ROOM WILL BE MADE!

What it is
A place and a time in which you KNOW you can get some VF in. The whole event will be streamed of course, and I'll be doing commentary / general bullshitting about It's become rather hard to just "jump on" to XBL and actually find some matches for VF. With that in mind I decided to do this.

Types of events

Public Gathering
Room size: 8
Open to: Everyone!
Objective: Have fun!
I'll run commentary on these rooms and ATTEMPT to give out advice to players who seek it. I'm not a walking encyclopedia of VF but I think I can help with some shit

Pro Night
Room size: 4-5
Open to: I'll be talking with some of the best VF players in the US and trying to garner interest in playing in a small room once in a while. Not open to the public, but a great place to watch and learn some higher level VF.
Objective: Getting more high level VF spread across the internet.
I'll again be running commentary and try to give you the ideas / reasons behind WHY the high level players are doing what they're doing. I don't consider myself to be a Pro but I'll also be playing

Replay Night
Room size: 0 (stay with me here )
Open to: uhhh... streamers watching
Objective: This night is for the people. What I'm going to do is watch user submitted replays, and give tips or tricks for the submitter. I'll give matchup information, and an observation based look into what the player could work on in their game. There's also a possibility of going over professional VF replays, and giving insight into their strategies, setups, and matchup approach.

If anyone wants to participate in this, they need to friend me on XBL (Lau of America), and have their replay ready in advance, so I can better prepare some things for the stream.

Euro Night
Room Size: 4-8
Open to: European players
Objective: Show off european VF. I will NOT be fighting in these, simply streaming / commentating / providing information on fights. This event won't happen unless otherwise organized by a group of European players. I leave it to you to get at least 4 or 5 people interest, and give me advanced notice so I can inform everyone that the Euro Night event is going to happen

The Lab
Room Size: 0
Open to: Stream only
Objective: Whenever I find a new piece of technology, this is the event it will be in. I'll showcase new shit learned for my characters and others. If you have something you wish to show off and make public, give me a PM on VFDC. I'll go over it with you and figure out how to throw it into the show. So user submitted content is a definite YES, I just won't be actually be playing matches. Skype and other voice chat programs are also a possibility for The Lab. I have not experimented with it but would be down for anything, so instead of me showing your new technology, I could have you on the line to explain it while I show it.

Well that's about it.

I'll keep this beginning thread updated as to the times I'll be streaming.

But as a beginning point. EVERY FRIDAY at 8PM EST!

The date is definitely subject to change in case it's not a time most people can make (I know a lot of people wanna just go out on friday).

 

I am in full support of this. I can help if need be as well.This would be will be awesome for everyone to get games and to improve.

Let this thread become a forum for ideas as well. If there's something you wanna see on the stream just let me know. A certain playstyle giving you fits? Post it here. A mechanic in the game you dont' quite understand? Post it here.

Can't promise to get to everything, but I can try. And I'll be hosting those weekly rooms along the way.

Also, if the Friday 9pm time is little too crazy, let me know what's better for you. Can't promise to stream at that time but it'll give me a better idea as to what "prime time" is.

 

This is great stuff I will be looking for my place early to see who shows up. Playing all of the usual people I like to see on XBL in a public room is great.

And wouldn't ya know it, I had a room of 8 people in almost no time

Just wanted to update everyone. Gonna be covering side turned pressure this friday. Also, going to be hosting a public room unless I come up with something else

I can always take part in these rooms but I want to figure out why my connection with Johochef sucked so bad eventhough I am playing in VA. So I will make sure it is as stable as possible. I like to see just how good his Lau is for sure. The experience is valuable as well, I am excited to see who might show up. I will be there early though.

 

You need a beginner night lol! This game has been collecting dust on my shelf since Evo (and I hardly played it before Evo either) Meh, who'd want to watch that now that I think about it. I just need to add people to my friends list that play this game.
