In the Ps2 VF4 manual it sez VF4 has A.R.M. (All range motion) Which is 8-way walk. (like Soul Calibur). But I have a friend, who will argue like hell that VF4 iz only
4-way walk. Since I am new 2 VF4 and just now starting 2 understand Jeffry. I wanted 2 make sure that I was right about the 8-way walk thing. b4 I g0t into the heated argument with this friend. If I am wrong please tell me.
    thanx

Yes, it is 8-way, but it is much slower than Soul Calibur's, so sometimes it's hard to tell. For immediate movement, though, (dashes and dodging) it's only 4 way.

    Use the fuckin' search, noob.

It's when you tap up or down to dodge, then press and hold the controller in one of the upward or downward directions. (You usually tap and hold in the same direction, meaning to do the 8 way walk into the screen, you tap up to dodge, then keep pressing and holding up on the controller/stick. Your character will stroll around in a circle into the screen).

You don't have to tap up first. You only have to hold up to initiate the walk. Tapping first then holding is only required in the down direction. You can also initiate the walk by holding in other directions as well, not just up or down.
