9K+G, uses and combos

    Hello everyone,

    I was in Dojo today and tried BlackBookCombos and other stuff. I came across /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif and tried the following combo:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif - BT/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif - /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif
    It is a combo with nice damage but after /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif the opponent can struggle out.
    Since the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif is rarely used it can cause suprise and maybe the opponent cannot react so fast.
    What are your ideas on this move/combo ?

    for mid - kage :

    the problem with the /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif is that it wont hit all characters
    and often you could do bigger damage

    for heavys + akira:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

    for lau:
    shoulder!

    or you could do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif to get a nice wake up game

    This needs some further testing, sorry

    Every idea is welcome. I will test the stuff you posted. But my original combo is nice on counter hit. 90 damage, but like I said, I will try your combos.

    I really like the flying kick. But when it comes down to a real fight there is never an occasion where I'd use it except against throw-happy chars.

    It's anti-nitaku so it won't clash with a throw at all. If they are going to throw you and you hit them with it, Jemun's combo he listed is really good. Basically, you turn their throw attempt into a 70 dmg combo if you can predict it. If they jab into throw every time you can kill them with 9K+G pretty effectively.

    What, how is this supposed to give you a wake-up game? It's high and leaves you backturned. Do you mean if the opponent techrolls, or what?

    I really like Anarkira's combos after 9K+G:
    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif > BT /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif (you must be in BT 2P range though)

    But personally, I'd go for a 270° throw after 9K+G most of the time (whether ON HIT or BLOCK).

    Using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif at the end of combos allows you to set up for Goh's back turned game if they tech roll. For example...

    /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+ /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif -> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif

    Then they tech roll, you back dash while still back turned and you get a free back turned mixup. If they don't tech you can just turn around...

    You always go into BT after 9K+G so you always have your BT P+K and BT P+G mix-up.

    Goh is a serious hand-full from Back-Turn too. Black book calls BT his "lifeline" so it's a great mix-up...

    Goh Anti-Nitaku...

    Yesterday I was using /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif as anti-nitaku to great effect. Because it ducks highs, if you do it against a predicted throw, you will quickly duck the throw and juggle your opponent into the air... From there you get an easy 59 damage combo ( /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif> /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif...

    I also feel like it's a little safer option as anti-nitaku than /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/uf.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif just because it can't be ducked and it avoids high attacks as well as the throw. Just seems to be a nice option to have to me.

    I do think this move will clash with a throw but if you use it at the right time you will just duck the throw and punch their outstretched hands for a nice combo opportunity.

    In VF, nitaku usually refers to choosing between a throw and a mid move. It's also normally discussed in reference to a disadvantaged situation. In that case /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif should clash with throws or you'll get CH by your opponents mid.

    You can certainly use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to great effect if you KNOW a high is coming. If you're hitting someone out of a throw animation, your opponent is likely using some randomly timed throw and started it way before or way after you executed /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif+/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif.

    Yes, you are right Plague... I guess anti-nitaku is not the word I'm looking for. I just ducked so many throws with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif yesterday I figured I'd throw it out there for discussion.

    But you are right, I was using against predicted throws and highs, not so much from a deep disadvantage. It is pretty hard for them to clash this attack with a throw however because it comes out slow enough that they've usually whiffed the throw over your head by the time /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif becomes active...

    But, yes, you have to predict the throw or high to use /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/b.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif to beat it...
