a matter of hertz

I`ve heard that i.e. in the US VF4 ver.c comes in 60 hertz only. Is that so? Cause on PAL, I can choose between 50 and 60, depending on my tv. I`ve also noticed that 60 hertz is notiseable quicker than 50 hertz, and the whole screen seem somewhat more taller (excuse my poor vocabulary) in 50. In 60, the screen and the characters seem thicker and more lifelike. Anyway, what I guess I`m trying to say is; can you choose the number of hertz in all VF4 games worldwide?

just the uk/euro version of vf4 on ps2, dont know about evo but im sure that will hav an option, the reason why in 50hz/frames mode the gfx are sqawshed is that the game was converted for a ntsc/60hz that has a res of about 525, when displayed on a pal set you hav 100 or so extra black lines top an bottom, oh i think vf3 uk version on dc had a option with the vga box

Besed on the recent Official PS2 magazine demo of Evo, which has a 50/60 option, the full version will have it.

Sorry for bringing up an old thread, but there is one thing that is bothering me. I have the EU/UK version, which features the selection between 50hz/60hz and the test. When i choose the test, the 60hz picture shows normally, but without colors. Is it possible for me to play in 60hz mode if i buy one of those more expensive scart-cables which is supposed to give you better picture and sound?

Considering that the picture is normal, and i can play with 60hz mode (i had to try, even though it was no color /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ), shouldn't it work if i buy the other cable? Or is it nothing to do with, except for getting a new tv?

I had just the same thing-and good news 4 you, you just need a new cable. And don't even worry about the 'more expensive' part-An RGB-Cable from Blaze is about 9euro-which saves you +-45euro compaired to the official one from sony and the quality is equal.
What you must check though is if there is a switch on your cable, so you can switch Hz: otherwise dvd's will be displayed green+the screen setup of other games will be 2 much on the left, etc. A switch keeps you from changing cables-I can tell cause I'm havin one without now=4euro's /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif but wouldn't consider that a plus

Thanks for helping! Now i just need to see if i'm fast enough to press the buttons since 60hz goes a little faster /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif
