1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

    Hello everybody!

    I recently bought an Xbox360+VF5+Hori EX2.

I've read some of your topics and I'm quite thrilled with the possibility of modding the HGVS for Xbox 360 as I'm currently a bit disappointed with the Hori stick.

However, for the time being, I was wondering about the following. The thing that annoys me the most with the EX2 is the stupidly big "throw" of the joystick. Why on earth you can tilt it until it clicks and then there is still SO MUCH space before it stops?

As this is my main problem, do you think there is a quick way to fix this problem? I was thinking of something like a "thick coin with a hole" where the hole is exactly the same size as the stick (the metal rod) and the whole diametre of the "coin" would allow the joystick to tilt just slightly after the click point.

Is this just the lunacy of a n00b or a potentially good idea?

I don't know much about joystick mods... but it sounds like maybe a Washer would fit that description..

If you take the bottom cover off the stick base, you can see the restrictor plate of the stick. If you can make that hole smaller, or add material to the base of the stick shaft, the throw will shorten.

    Hi!
You mean that black plasti disc? The one that is not really attached to anything? If yes that's what I was thinking too.
also, can I unscrew the green ball on the top of the stick? Any recommendations on how to do that?

No. Turn entire stick upside-down. Remove screws from large metal cover. Look inside at bottom of stick.

That black plastic disc you see on the outside is a dust cover.

Check in the Gallery thread for pictures of what I'm describing.

    3 solutions

#1 Add an extra restriction plate like what Plague said which may or may not be tricky.

#2 Replace the plastic actuator on the stick shaft with something bigger.

#3 Attempt to move the microswitches in a closer orientation.

Or Plan B: Mod the thing with a sanwa arcade stick that doesn't suck lol.
