A translation guide?

Hi, I'd really like to know what some of the things the guys say in the game *really* means and since some guys here seem to know Japanese you might be able to help with a translation of different winposes and such?
So let's get this started with!

Only thing I know is (for Akira):
ora ora = what you say when you punch somebody repeatedly. A fighting taunt or war cry; we've had it loosely translated as "Take that!" "Try this!" (see also dorya, orya, sorya, uraa)

(I got the above thingy from a webpage).

Would be fun to know what your character was screaming so I wouldn't, say, imitate Lion and go around telling everyone how gay I was on the streets... no wait a minute, Lion doesn't speak Japanese.

 

GLC's vf4 faq has a good deal of the characters quotes translated.

The only thing I've found was a link to gamefaqs.com's where there weren't any translations to be found in the text. A little help?
I'd also kinda like a complete translation of the quotes to be honest...

Round won: "Shugyo ga tarin!" (You need more training)
"Ten ka mu so!" (Under the sky... no one can beat me!)
"Ware ni teki nashi!" (I am invincible)

Lau

Pre-fight: "Ohh ahhh!"
"Wakaiga! Hineri tsubushite kureruwa!" (Young one... I will crush you!)
"Kozakashiwa!" (You are annoying!)

Round won: "Jyakusha wa o kugure!" (Hahaha... stay away from me!)
"Shugyo ga tarinwa." (You need more training)
"Renshu nimo naran wa." (Hmmm... I cannot even consider this battle a warm up)
"Waga koenken maeni teki wa nai!" (Koen-Ken is invincible!)

Lei-Fei

Pre-fight: "Hai, hai, hai!" (Yes, yes, yes!)
"Fu, fu, hai!"
"Anata no kungfu, misete morau!" (Show me your kung-fu)

Round won: "Daga! Watashi no hou ga tsuyoi yo da!" (You're not bad, but I'm the better fighter!)
"Haahwaa"
"Hahaha... katasete morata yo!" (Hahaha... I win!)

Pai:

Pre-fight: "Haaaaah..."
"Anata ga taisen yote ne. Yoroshiku ne." (You're the one whom I'm fighting)
"Unnn... sa, tatakaimashoka." (Let's start fighting)

Round won: "Anata niwa kungfu ga tarinai wa." (You need more kung-fu)
"Jyunen hayakata wa ne." (You're ten years to early)
"Anatate zenzen kawate inai no ne." (You haven't changed a bit)

Shun:

Pre-fight: G: ? (Ok, why don't we start fighting)
"Muu... hick..."
K : ? (Come on! You young one!)


Round won: "Hahaha!"
"Kyo hhha sake ga umaiwai." (Sake tastes good today)
"Hic!"

Goh:

Pre-fight: "Kita na... deha hajime yo ka" (You came... shall we begin?)
"Mezawari da na... teme~ kara keshite yaru." (You're an eyesore... I'll get rid of you.)
"Sukoshii dake asonde yaru ka" (Shall we play just a little?)

Round won: "Masateru to demo omotteiru no ka?" (It's something like "Did you think I was superior?")
"Teme~ yowasugiru na... korosu ki ni naranai ze..." (You're too pitiful... I can't think of killing you.)
"Mekeinu ga... sonomama nemutteiro!" (You're a loser, and... you'll sleep in this state.)

Could someone who speaks japanese correct this?
This is not finished at this point =/

PS (for those confused although it's in english): Jackys "I've done handcuffed lightning!" is probably from a a Muhammed Ali quote: "I done handcuffed lightening, put thunder in jail!"

 

I think zero chan translated goh's win quotes a while back. I remember reading the topic on one of my many trips through the archives when I was bored.

You could probably find it if you looked hard enough.

Those are, for the most part, right... literally anyway. They've got nuances that just don't translate, and of course Aoi's kyoto dialect which you'd have no dream of translating accurately.

IE: Kage's "Ware ni teki nashi" is more bragging than a statement. Probably "Noboy's fit to be my enemy" would be better, but that's not literally what he says.

Lei Fei's (Hai hai hai) is really a sound... not a word.

Thanks for the translations , its nice to know what 's actually being said!Some of them remind me of the old SF2 " go home and be a family man" style banter.
