Abare

Sup all,
I am having major problems against players who utilise abare against me. Particularly with lei-fei, shun and sarah.

When they are in frame disadvantage, and I go for a throw, I get hit out of it 9/10 times. If I go for an attack, I get outprioritised. Is Jeff especially prone to this tactic?

btw, If you think Brad or Kage will be better at punishing whiffs or blocks please indicate.

Instead of going for a throw when advantaged, try elbow, 4K, or PK. They'll soon tire of eating the damage and clam up at which point your throw game will come into play. If they never learn, keep punishing them.

Also, study those characters' frame data so that you can begin to apply maximum guaranteed damage. If you're playing as Jeff:

At +12, PK.

At +14, 4KP.

At +16, 3PP > 66PP

At +17, 6K.

 

aka it takes a lot of friggin memorization to get good at this game either that or play a lot hah.

 

Go for 2P. It's an universal abare killer.

Then go for 3P if they still attack for CH and stagger. Then go for 33P and over 100dmg.

Ultimate abare noob killer.

 

I figured out a way to combat it. I space myself and do 43P+K which leaves me at advantage on guard or hit. I then proceed to do 6P and am advantaged again. from here, depending on whether they wised up and stopped abare-ing, I go for 6K or throw.

After 43P+G I always go for a low throw.
If they throw-escape or try anything else, then go for 6K CH
