I play alot of Tekken, but I am starting to really get into VF alot, so I am no only practicing as Lion, but also I am studying the Frame Data in VF4&5.

My question is that when you do a /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gifinput does it take 2 frames or 1? In Tekken it take 2 frames to do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif inputs!

I am just curious, I just dont want to take my time looking into general VF guide threads to find what I am looking for! Maybe if you all link it, I would really appericiate it!!!

I want to say 2 frames, but I really don't think this question has been asked b4.

I think it's 1 frame for inputs like /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif, /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif etc. Maybe more depending on the situation or how you're inputting it... really not sure.

If those inputs are buffered during recovery of your previous attack then there's no delay though.

In neutral, it's 3 frames Mininum AFAIK, as such /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif and /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif or /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/d.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/df.gif.

if you look at the command input frame counter in training mode you can see that two directional inputs never occur at the same time so it's either 2 or more.

Honestly this really isn't that important because you buffer stuff in VF. you care more about how long it takes to execute.

frames used to input are wasted frames unless buffered.

Are you talking about regular input from an idle position, or buffering the input (during freeze time for example)?

If the former: then the fastest you could possibly enter it is 3 frames: /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif (1), /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/n.gif (1), /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif (1). But, we humans are not this fast. If you have the game on PS3 or Xbox360, go to training mode and turn on input display. You can then see for yourself how long it takes you to input /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif.

If the latter: depending on how you buffered the input (fastest timing or not), then it'll either "waste" 1 or 0 frames. You can read more about buffering inputs in the wiki:

    Command Input
Combo Success (read Fastest timing and 1 frame kill)

I guess from a regular input from ideal position, but as well as right after a move on hit/guard/CH. Man, guard buffering and recover buffering is nuts!? However some of is still confusing and just plain complicated.

I think I heard in VF4Evo that its take 1 frame to do /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif, but since its VF5, I thought it would be different.

the point is kind of moot because humans can't input things at that speed. Mechanically just doesn't happen, mechanically.

It's more simple than I think you're making it. Long as you're buffering commands you should only be really worrying about where your buffer window of opportunity is.

It doesn't. It takes 3 frames. You can't buffer it all into recovery either in Tekken. And to do f,F+2 style moves, it's as I've written it f frame 1, N frame 2, f frame 3, f+2 frame 4.

I think what you mean is that doing /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif can add one extra frame to execution, not that it takes one frame to input.
