I just got back from one of gaming website and recently they made a polling about which fighting game is better? DOA4 or VF5
And guess what? DOA takes first place in total amount of DOA 54% and VF 46%

I mean...hey no offense DOA is a good game with story mode and level layout but look all the character they don't have strong characterization like VF. And DOA is not a fighting game is a boring CGI movies.

Here in Japan, most people not play DoA...
And if we do, we play the beach volley ball a lot more than the fighting game.

Plus, I hate indonesians, yes, you read me right, I hate Indonesians and their racist violent mentallity.

They killed one of my family members when we were there because they thought that we were Chinese... Fucking indonesians can all kiss hell's foot.

I wouldn't go so far as to say one should hate Indonesians, but it is a messed up country. Most of the people are really poor. Basically, the only people with money are members of the Chinese minority who really look down on the majority Muslim ethnic Indonesians.

I personally have met Chinese Indonesians who said horrible things about their Muslim countrymen - the same people whose labor enriches their families and allows them to drive expensive cars whilst they are educated at American universities. With this in mind, I can sort of understand why most Indonesians would hate the Chinese-Indonesians, even if I can't condone violence against them.

I have heard anti-Chinese sentiment in Indonesia compared with anti-Jewish sentiment in the West without a big backlash like the Final Solution or anything. Of course, it is horrible for someone in your family to walk unknowing into this ethnic feud and I'm sorry to hear about it.

    Thank you for your sentiments...
In my eyes, people make choices... and they made a choice to do horrible things.
It's their choice to be lazy and not do something about their situation. It's their choice to kill and rape.

I went there with an american friend... they treat him like king because they think they can milk him.

I have also met indonesians who are rich... they are sly, not nice, and they still hate you.
I can say a lot more, but not going to... just that everytime I hear or see "indonesia" my blood boils.

Btw, did you know when the mob of farmers attacked us, I'm the only one who survived, because I'm karateka... and guess who the police arrested? Yes... me... not them... they arrested me because
I defended myself and almost killed some of them. And the reason they didn't kill me in jail was because my grandpa was a military doctor and found out about what happened.

so yes, I hate them... I hate them so much I'm not even embarassed to say it out loud anywhere.

I've just gotten into VF like 3 weeks ago, been playing DOA now for about 4 years. And I'll say this, the online mode killed DOA, ive basically given up on getting people for Michigan gatherings, half of them are a bunch of scrubs, who'd rather play an flawed version of the game (online).

Trust me if any of you have played DOA more than 5 hours offline and more than 5 hours online you'll see the clear cut difference of just how trashy DOA4's online play is.

So yeah, 3 weeks ago most of the guys over for the DOA gathering snuck in their PS3, started playing VF, I gave it shot and within 2 matches I was hooked. Now we do VF gatherings with reliable people who wanna come. VF>DOA right now.

Wow, that's some funny shit to hear foreigners talk about Indonesia like they know what's going on, based on this and that story I heard from this or that friend, and based on an apparent ability to read minds and stereotype like only a pompous academic snob living in a rich country could. It's particularly funny to hear a Japanese make a comment about violence in Indonesia given that Japan had forcefully colonized Indonesia at one point and performed fairly brutal acts to do so.

(I am Indonesian and proud of it!)

Funny story: When I was in Japan playing VF I beat a guy 4 or 5 times in a row at Shibuya (I was clearly better but he had the same rank as me, so...). The guy was so pissed he went around and tried to beat me up in real life. Turns out the guy was heavily into drugs and couldn't keep his head straight. I guess this means that all Japanese are violent and drug addicts. Damn, I guess I should hate the Japanese now huh since that guy was out to hurt me?

It is pretty messed up to say that you hate everyone from a particular country. However, if the guy's friend really was killed like he said then it is not hard to see why he might feel that way. Not many people are going to be like Robert Fisk after going through something like that.

My own statements about the dynamics of Indonesian society were taken from books and courses, as well as the comments of a few Chinese Indonesians that I have met whose sentiments may or may not be typical of their cohorts (although they are consistent with what I have read elsewhere).

Of course none of my knowledge and experiences are a substitute for living in the country, but I never said I was any kind of authority on the subject It's just what I "know" off the top of my head, and it's not as if Indonesia is a subject that dominates my thoughts or anything. If I am wrong about anything, please correct the, uh, record or whatever.

My own country's history in Indonesia is, surprise surprise, pretty shameful! Sukarno's ouster, Suharto, and massacres of thousand (hundreds of thousands?) of Timorese... Wasn't that Kissenger's handiwork? That Kissenger sure was mischevious. Here's the latest thing I read on him, coincidentally this morning.

DOA vs VF is kinda like
    WWF vs K-1 Grand Prix

Both are competitive and entertaining, but in one of them somebody can really really get hurt.

DOA really is a lighter game and the skill required to master it is not even in the same ballpark as what's required to master VF.

So if you get your arse kicked in DOA (no harm, no fowl) because the level of investment is a lot less than VF then the loss doesn't really hurt.

On the other hand a loss in VF is so violent because the training
investment is considerably, exponentially greater. If you get your arse kicked in VF (well that's personal) it hurts. If U get beat bad enough its almost a matter of manhood (girlyhood for some of you). Theres never that sense of pain when getting routed in DOA or any of the other lighter, funnier fighters /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/cool.gif

Hence the WWF vs K-1 analogy.

/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/smirk.gif okay so its a weak analogy but anyone whose mastered both games and have played in real tourneys for both games will probably agree with me.

Does it seem to anyone else that VFDC attracts a disproportionate amount of retards than other websites?
