PS3 blurb:
Sony apparantly making progress on their next gen system that uses CELL and XDRDRAM technologies. It's yet to be named officially, but is known as PS3 at the moment. According to most, it will start shipping in 2005.

Once the release date gets into sight, the next step is developing the software. Rumors are floating about that Sony has already released the specs to the big-name development houses.

The article mentions speculatin on backwards compatibility, and whether the programming difficulties that have haunted the PS2 will make their way to the PS3, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Dragonquest VIII:
The next installment of this series will make it's way to the PS2, boasting a lifelike 3D world. Go through towns, open bookshelves, and even read the books.

It will apparantly also adopt the time-system present in DQIV.

Fight scenes will reoprtedly be different from previous systems.

Never said this was breaking news. First time I visited the site in a while, so just posted a couple of things of interest.

Gamespots pics of the game itself are pretty absent as well.

 

Heh, backward compatibility will be trough emulation apparently so no IC chip that is just an old PS2 condensed to a single chip as Sega did for SMS compatibility with MD or Sony did for PS1 compatibility on PS2.
