Whether you are a novice or a veteran player; a casual or a serious player; come play in the VF5US Akai Leagues! These organized game sessions are done for both North America and Europe region (separate gaming sessions)! As of November 2023, I am expanding the league sessions to be done only on weekends to include weekdays.Currently, two types of leagues:

• Open Leagues:
  • First come, first serve.
  • Diverse range of player skill levels.
  • Requirements: players living in the noted region (North America or Europe) and wired connection.
• Invitational Leagues (coming soon...):
  • Requirements: players living in the noted region (North America or Europe); wired connection; invitation - please check Akai Leagues - Invitationals Google Sheet
  • Single A - Intended as a gateway for novices and players in between novice/intermediate skill range
  • Double A - The middle tiered league. Majority of Open League participants will be placed here.
  • Triple A - For the top players in the Akai League system.

General Info
I host league rooms for ~3-4 hours. The first hour is for Single A League. When at least 4 people are present, I run a league with the simultaneous play option, 3 out of 5 rounds, random stage setting. No character switching when the league is running. In between leagues you may switch characters.

If there is an odd number of players, there is one league round bye for every player (~3 minute break). The league runs non-stop until the last match is finished. The league continues even if power outage or network issues caused you to exit from the game. Unfortunately, the VF Netcode Gods, Spirits, or Gremlins were unkind to you.

Depending on how many people are present, a league can be as fast as 10 minutes or as long as 50 minutes. Whether you can play in one league or the entire session is up to you!

Please play the game on a wired connection. It should lead to a better gaming experience not only for you, but also for your fellow players. If you switch between wired and wireless connection, you will have to also toggle the option in the PS4/PS5 menu.

Room Status
I will post around the various websites before the start of the gaming session. When a league is in progress, players wanting to enter the league room will not be able to as the room is not displayed in the lobby. Once a league is completed, the league room will be displayed again in the lobby. During the session, you can check the status of the room through my live stream on Twitch.

Single A League Session
This is intended for novice players. At first, the matches may be more lopsided, but with time it should even out.

Start Time: 10 AM Pacific, 11 AM Mountain, 12 PM Central, 1 PM Eastern and room is hosted for ~1 hour.

How to Participate: By invitation. On mobile device, the VFDC event threads are best viewed horizontal/landscape position. Close to start time and during the room session, message me and I will send invites.

Requirements:

1. For players in the North America region
2. New Participants - For players that have not participated in Single A or Open League, this is intended for Level 29 or Lower Ranked Players. Your highest ranked character cannot be above Level 29. For Level 30 or higher players, please consider instead to play in Open League and gain a league rank.
3. Previous Participants - If you have previously participated in Single A (Minor League), there are no rank prerequisites. You can continue to participate in Single A until you are promoted or graduated from it. For those that have participated in Open League, if your League Rank is Single A you can participate. See the last portion of this post for your league rank.
4. Wired Connection - If you switch between wired and wireless connection, you will have to also toggle the option in the PS4 menu. If connection is poor amongst participants, I have the option to remove participant from the league.

Open League Session
Start Time: 11 AM Pacific, 12 PM Mountain, 1 PM Central, 2 PM Eastern and room is hosted for ~2-3 hours. At least 3 leagues

For players in the North America region and wired connection. If you switch between wired and wireless connection, you will have to also toggle the option in the PS4 menu. In between each open league play, there is approximately 10-15 minute intermission (or 5 "warmup" matches) where people that want to join or leave the session are able to. I use the chat option in the league room lobby with "preparing" "x matches remaining" to let players know when the next league starts.

Random Team Battle
Start Time: After the completion of the Saturday (EU) and Sunday (NA) Open League portion.

How to Participate: For players in the North America region. The room will have a passocde. It will always be that day's date, written in "MMDD" for North America and "DDMM" for Europe.

League Rank
As of right now, the league ranks is only used to determine who can participate in Single A leagues.

• Each character you play gains their own league rank after playing in three leagues.
• Accumulate three advancement points to gain a new league rank.

Gaining Advancement Points in Single A League

• Finish top 25% in a league match. Top player in a league with 4-7 players. Top 2 players in a league with 8-11 players. Top 3 players in a league with 12-15 players. Top 4 players in a league with 16 players.

Gaining Advancement Points in Open League

• If you finish a league at the top 25% among players with the same or higher league rank than you, then you gain an advancement point for the next rank above your current rank.
• If you finish a league at the top 25% among players with higher league rank than you, then you gain an advancement point for the league rank above those players (the lowest level).
• Unranked characters are not taken into consideration when determining advancements to Triple A and higher league ranks.
