Akapan, Akira_T, Howard, other SVGL players?

Hey all, any of you old Bay Area VF'ers still around? BigDaddy and I have been playing a bunch up in SF and we are looking for some more comp. If any of you guys are still interested in playing, send me a PM and we can set up some sessions on the weekend.

I'm currently in NorCal, Napa to be exact. I was planning on making a trip to SVGL, but San Fran is closer. Where do you guys play?

Note, I am a novice. But I still enjoy playing human comp. That's how you get better anyway.

 

BigDaddy and myself play at my place in Japan Town. We get together about 3-4 times a week late night, but we can just as easily set up a weekend session. Let me know when you are free to play.

Just an update . . . Howard's moved back to Taiwan. He's hoping to make it back to the US, but not anytime soon at least until the economy kicks in. Akapan is busy studying, and Akira/Don/FeixaQ are either bowling, visiting friends 'n family, or playing beatmania, magic, and UT2003/C&C Generals.

The idea was for VF EVO to rescue the crew from bowling, but nothing has been able to revive the VF spirit. It's died down ever since Howard left. I don't think any of us have touched VF in ages let alone have access to EVO yet. A lot of us are hosed with work and/or other means of entertainment nowadays, but maybe something will happen in May if someone wants to organize something.

There are some VFers scattered in the Bay Area like Jacky Brothers & VFElf in South Bay, Neng Li in Berkeley, Dloob in SF, and others. Good luck in recruiting a group for EVO action /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Here's a reality check. I don't know who you are... in fact I don't know anything about you. However, I've been around long enough to disregard anyone who posts about how rough they are and how they would easily "serve" up everyone else. If you were expecting a reply for competition, you might try being a little more personable... then people might actually give you the time of day. Until then, you are just like every other "I'm the best, I'll serve you all up!" posters on the net.

Seriously, no offense intended, but when you come at people like that, the majority of the time you aren't going to be taken seriously.

I just got evo 2 weeks ago; I'm available weekends, and would love to play, especially if it's in SF and the old crew (yusuke, don, akira, jenny, chris,..etc) show up...

and can somebody convince chris to get off ut2003? just tell him i'll probably whoop his ass in vf now...he'll probably be angered enough to start evo /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

Since you did'nt answer mine (because you don't know me?)Im answering yours, you cats didn't reply and in my frustration I said what I said, and the truth is I thought this was about fighting not a popularity contest. The bottom line is you really don't wanna fight, you wanna make friends, and that's fine, but don't put a call out for comp. I'm up for some weekend games... not sure about weekday nites simply because of work and school. Never made it down to SVGL due to distance (Berkeley), but would love to play some of the regulars (got my butt kicked by Chris a couple of times).

I was little shocked when I saw my VF name on the title. /versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif I have been bit busy due to the last semester at USF. /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif So, I have not played VF since I attended LA tornament, but I am still interested in playing VF. /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif Only problem is being bit busy.

Anyway, I am so happy about seeing a VF group is developping in here, SF! I am looking forward to attend one of the gatherings!
(not this weekend, but I may be able to attend on other weekends )

Maybe ill visit SF this summer with some friends and play you guys. I really want to play akapan again ^0^. Hopefully a strong SF group develops by that time and we can have our first California tourney before or after EC5 =P.

Princewhipple and tragic, fight it out on the game not each other. Trash talking never helps either, just look at them tekkenites.

Wow, this is almost like a fighting game ebonics lesson. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif Who knew?

 

For what it's worth, I've found time to start playing again on the PS2 version, hopefully mine and every one else's schedules will clear up and we can have some gatherings again soon.

 

Actually, I wasn't trying to pick a fight. I was only trying to provide some insight in to why no one was replying to princewhipple. As for wanting comp, of course BD and myself do. We usually play 4-8 hours at night, about 4 times a week.

Akapan, drop me a message when you are available and we can set something up. Aside from BigDaddy, I know GalzPanic is interested as well.

I'm not quite sure where anyone else is located in relation to say, Japan Town (where I live).

I'll definitely join the SF VF crew but I need time to practice. I'll let you know when I'm ready to compete. I have to work on my Aoi and a new character so just keep me posted on when and where you're having a gathering.
