To get the ball rolling, here is a vid I've just done quickly featuring the basic combos from the VF5:Complete Guide. Apologies for the out of sync audio, don't know how it happened as my original file plays fine. If I can rectify it I will replace this vid.

    <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/DED6QAPjvsU"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/DED6QAPjvsU" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

Here is the Black Book combo vid I've done:

    <object width="425" height="350"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube.com/v/lJ24r3LumjM"></param><param name="wmode" value="transparent"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube.com/v/lJ24r3LumjM" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" wmode="transparent" width="425" height="350"></embed></object>

I can put up a complete transcription sometime in the future if anyone requests it. I don't have interent with any sound right now so I can't tell if the audio is ok. If it's out of sync I will try to sort it out and re-upload it.

Best Thread in a while. Since VF5 doesn't have a robust training mode, and since those Japanese videos only show a few comboes, something like this is really needed. Also why it is good is because it isnt' like watching match after match trying to find something new, or even reading the list of black book combo is is fine but seeing it is even better. Humans are and will always be visual creatures.

Now, if something like this can be done with every character and placed in every character's dojo, It would definitely help everyone out.

I'm actually working on doing these short (basic) combos vids for all chars and will add them here once done (all taken from The Complete Guide).

But I should get a more extended Akira vid up this week time permitting.

If I was referring to the Black Book guide, I would say I am referring to the Black Book guide. I already explicitly said in my first post I would do a Black Book combo vid at a later date.

I said the combos come from The Complete Guide.

There is a book published in Japan called VF5: The Complete Guide for PS3 (or something along those lines) which acts as a Mook of sorts for console VF5. It covers the system, everyone's moves and quest mode (ais, costume items etc) and has basic combo lists for all chars (no frame data tho, a simplified different publication than the White/Black Books).

These are where the short vids I'll be doing come from.

I was taking a stab at it. I really didn't bother reading your first post too much cause it had a HUGE youtube video that immediately caught my attention.

    So my bad.

Yeah ditto on the audio problems. I noticed my kage combo youtube movie has the sound slightly out of sync as well. The original movie that I cut though is fine. I've also noticed when I watch VF5 arcade movies from Japan that the sound is out of sync on occasion. Maybe it's a YouTube thing?

If you sort it out, let us know.

    Cool.

I actually tried uploading to youtube twice, because the first time I uploaded the sound was out of sync. After the second time it was still out of sync and I didn't have the patience to try it a third...

I capped my PS3 using an RGB SCART cable (it has it's own stereo cables to connect to external devices) and an extra av cable (there's a video socket on the scart cable itself as well) plugged into a pincale studio cpature tool, which in turn connects to my laptop via usb.

The vid I made was perfecly fine (as have all the other vids I've made before) it was just when I put it on youtube that the audio problem showed up and I've never had this problem with anything else before.

If I can't rectify it, I'll maybe just add some background music and see how that works out.

Found this after a quick google search: The sound is out of sync on my video. How do I fix it?

The problem is with YouTube and the audio codec you use with your video. I was using wmv 9.1 codecs for video and audio which caused problems, but then I switched to a different codec altogether and that seemed to fix my audio out of sync issue.

The support link above recommends using MP3 audio for best results.

    Ahh nice, good find Myke.

I'll see what options I have for audio codecs on my video editing software and try to rectify the problem.
