Hi guys, i'm a new player giving Virtua Fighter a try.
I would like to know what you guys think are Akira's top 10 moves. I mean which moves should I focus on to begin, and why ?

Well, here is my actual list, what do you think about it ?

    66P : Safe i13 mid, +5 on hit
666P : Safe i15 mid, kd on hit (haven't found anything to combo yet), combo for 80dmg on CH
    P : Classic jab
    2P : Classic 2P
    3P+K : Safe low, +7 on hit
    6P+G+K : Quick guard break, 46P guaranteed
3P+K+G : Guard break that staggers on block if you want to mix, or that guarantees 70dmg
2P+K+G : Mid guard break, jab guaranteed on block
46P+K : Safe half circular, delayable, staggers if max delay
46P+K+G : Safe half circular, turns oppenent over on hit

[P], [2][P] are great. The frames attached to them are apparent. [P][P] is a nice high-mid, [P][K] is a good punish, made better since the [K] can be cancelled.

    [6][6][P] is amazing.

[6][6][6][P] can lead to 100+ damage combos with a wall (float with [2][K]+[G][P]). For the speed, range, safety, damage, this is an amazing, AMAZING mid.

[3][P]+[K] is really evasive, can go under higher animating mids, great range, advantage on hit, combos. +7... SEVEN on hit.

I agree with the rest, though [2][P]+[K]+[G] is okay... I mean, if you predict high guard, [6][P]+[K]+[G] is better, if crouch, [6][6][P] comes out faster (though less damage, but is +6 on hit).

    What should be added:

[P]+[K]+[G], SPoD is amazing. Mid launchers suck versus crouching opponents, this covers that, and with a wall add [3][3][P]+[K] for over 90 damage.

[6][6][P]+[K], beats highs, only Aoi can reverse it, great range. The hit throw > stance is a beastly mix up.

[3][3][P]+[K] is a really quick anti-sabaki attack, can goes under lots attacks, nice staggers and damage.

[IMG][6][P][P] is a great attack. Excellent in combos, can beat failed evades... for example, the crouch dash input may cause an evade, and then the the [P][P] while knock down, leading to good damage. Also leads to a combo versus Taka. Great attack.

[P]+[K] is great with a wall to the opponent's back. Crazy frames if it hits on side turned, especially on counter hit.

As primarily a Jeffry player, Akira's [K]+[G][G] has an amazing hitbox. Great attack, deceptive range.

[3][3][P], for it's speed, range, and damage potential, it's an excellent launcher.

Opponent's back to a wall? You block a low, [IMG][4][6][P] is an excellent punisher and can lead to a great wall combo.

Do not underestimate the damage potential of [4][P]+[K]+[G][P]. I've seen a 90 damage combo versus even Taka (with a wall). Beats [P] and [2][P], i.e. arguably the most important moves in the game.

I've been getting a lot of use out of [1][P] just as a "Get the hell off me" button.

70 damage from that move against Taka is pretty nice, not used this move much outside of combos so far but that's definitely changing vs Taka :p

Also, post more about Akira Sebo. I always seem to find good stuff in your posts.

Same. The thing ducks under a number of high moves as well, yet hits "mid" if the opponent is airborne (i.e. it hits a floating opponent at the point where only a mid should).

No it isn't anymore, Ive been hit out of by high punches.. Everything gets hit easier in FS it seems. Im willing to bet real money that it won't go under any mids anymore.

The good thing is that characters that relied a lot in wacky hitboxes like Kage and Lei Fei are now screwed and have to play 'proper' thanks to the hitbox changes. [IMG]

I think it is a matter if you playing against Jeffry or not. -_-

While yes, FS has fixed a lot of the retarded hitbox issues from Vanilla, I was able to just replicate in Dojo [3][P]+[K] going under [6][6][K]+[G] landing on normal hit (it's range dependent of course).

I really wish the money comment wasn't a hollow one.

I have a lot more where that came from, and there is a lot of video evidence... but I think Akira players don't deserve anymore help, but a nerf-hammer.

Does akira have any Sabaki moves?

I think My eye might have caught one while fighting him but I'm not sure which one.

    Thanks [IMG]

Yes. His [4]+[P]+[K]+[G] sabakis high and low jabs. It also sabakis some other types of punches that aren't necessarily a [P] or a [2][P], i.e. Akira's [3]+[P]+[K], Akira's [4][6]+[P] and the second hit of Goh's [3]+[P][P]

A couple new moves I found that Akira can sabaki is Brads half circled spinning elbow attack, and Vanessas super man punch move. I'll have to go to her command list to see the input of her move.

Maybe make a thread with the moves he can sabaki. With video for visual. So when you notice when someone throws out x move a lot, you notice it is sabakiable (that a word? Hahah)

His sabaki ([4][P][+][K][+][G]) "sabakis" high kicks as well, for example Aoi's [K] or [4][K].

Why is P+k+g good? It is a very slow linear mid attack thats -9 on block

Same for 3pkg. I know the guardbreak spod is cool but why not just 6pkg?

P+K+G is like a launcher, but it's not ) Like, when you launch a crouching opponent with yoho or knee, you can't get as much damage as when he's standing. But with SPoD you always get 67 dmg whether he's crouching or not. That's how I see it)

Ohh makes sense. Guess I need to spod after i block a low from now on. Missing out on free damage....

Anyway I watched some japanese akira vids and both 3pkg and pkg is used heavily for oki as long as they don't do a rising kick.

About the GBoD ( [3][P][+][K][+][G]) - maybe it has longer range, than [6][P][+][K][+][G], but I'm not sure still. It clearly gives more dmg on heavy characters, but i don't know why should I use it against the others instead of the [6] one.

    Nope.

    [6][K][P]

17f exe, great for punishing lows and as it'll land as a recovery counter you'll still get the normal float.
