1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. However, you can expect some VF5US specific changes to come soon!

Anecdotal evidence states AM2 have given me heaven

Seriously, being in the UK with next to no arcades carrying any version of Virtua Fighter (the only one I've ever come across is in London, which means I get to play once a year!) has always made my experience fun but short-lived. I'd buy each version but get bored relatively quickly, especially as all the cool kids love the more flashy DOA and Tekken. Thus I really want to make sweet man-love to whoever it was that found a way to make latency issues in VF seemingly non-existent.

It surprises me how quickly my ability improves whenever I go online, feeling I learn something new with every match (first lesson: not to hit /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/u_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif everytime I knock someone down). I find the only downside to this is how quickly my ability stagnates the moment I play against the AI so I can unlock more clothing. Basically AM2 have turned what was my favourite fighting game but failed to hold my interest long into something genuinely challenging and rewarding. I don't see myself ever getting tired of this.

Aside: I just fought a guy and won, who then instantly accused me of button bashing. Granted, I am not entirely in control of the urge to hammer whatever button I want one too many times yet, but I feel over the past week I have learnt much and play a much more controlled match than I ever used to. But, try as I might, I was unable to convince the guy that you can't really win against other human players in VF by button-bashing, unless they do so too, in which case the match goes to the fastest character. His belief was that once he learnt "the silly combos you guys are using" then he'd be able to win. A shame, too, because I felt he was totally missing the reason why VF is so good - it lacks the "silly" dialled-in combos (hi, Tekken!) that means anyone of average skill but good memory can win a match.

Sorry for the really unstructured and arguably pointless thread, I just wanted to share my absolute adoration for the 360 port of VF5.

Oh, and to UK players: having put my gamertag in the UK thread, I am wondering if there is a UK VF centric community. I imagine the UK VF scene is next to non-existent due to the lack of a flourishing arcade industry, so any way we can use VF360 to create one would be fantastic.

Hey that's awesome to hear dude.

I hope that finding comp will inspire you to meet your local UK VF'ers and play them in real life.

Many people don't realize how unbelievably fun it is to meet others who share their passion for a great game. I hope you get to experience that.

If you're "taking a shot" at Tekken's 10-strings, just know that experienced Tekken players block those strings and PUNISH *10-string*ers DEARLY for it.

Nice to hear you're enjoying the game, though! Keep playing!

"wait, theres more people?" My exact reaction when I discovered this website a couple of months ago. The funny thing is 2 years back i was on here looking through the item list for Lei and Shun, but i never checked out the forums, i mean shit... i didn't know what they were. It was like finding treasure.
