1. Hey Guest, looking for Virtua Fighter 5: Ultimate Showdown content? Rest assured that the game is identical to Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown so all current resources on here such as Command Lists with frame data, Combo Lists and the Wiki still apply. Any Marvel or AE players here?

Was thinking about picking up one of these games to learn. As it is VF is the only fighting game I play.

How's the netcode with these two games? Im intrigued by Marvel but the idea that one hit and you're dead seems like it could be frustrating. Either way if I did play either of these games It would probably be exclusively online.

Marvel has atrocious netcode. AE has serviceable netcode but it is still pretty bad. If you're exclusively playing online, the SFxT netcode is much better than both of those games.

It's not so bad. I don't play it anymore but I've heard the 2013 rebalance makes the game a lot more fun.

Was never into DS back in the day. I heard MK had a terrible netcode.

I wonder if people still play 3S OE online. That's suppose to use GGPO's netcode which I heard is really good.

DSR uses GGPO as well. you can even see the ping. 3SOE used GGPO pretty poorly from what I hear.

3Soe is still active, as of now ggpo on 3soe has hiccups here and there , Dsr got the Latest implementation of ggpo so it works better than 3soe's. But they said it will be patched. Also SFxT > SF4AE

Because internet infrastructure, especially in the Americas, is still garbage.

AE has the best netcode by far, Marvel & ShxT don't even come close; some AE characters are gimmicky online compared to offline though.

    what about Skullgirls?

Skullgirls is GGPO- it's top tier netcode.

Bad netcode like KOF tends to be bad in Japan and S.Korea as well, the cafeid guys won't play KOF online even with Koreans.

is strange to me that the people say MK is bad online because i use to play a lot in king of the hill without problems (not 100%, i mean 5 lag games - 95 great games) the only problem with that game were the people that disconected when they lose

    anyone here play Battle Fantasia?

If you want to pick up another fighting game and your criteria is that it needs to have really good netcode, check out Soul Calibur V and Persona 4 Arena. Both games are really solid and many consider their netcode to be even better than VF5FS.
