If former tekken player counts. Actually I liked Tekken 3. I was a Eddy Gordo button masher.

Actually yes. I still do enjoy playing tekken whenever nobody wants to play VF with me /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif.

I use a whole bunch of characters. ! means who I consider to be my best, * means my favorite.

T4: !Craig, !Paul, Hwoarang, *Lei, and I'm learning and loving Law.

TTT: !*Kazuya and Ganryu (hands down my best team), *Lei and Heihachi, and I'm getting better at holding my own with team Korea (Hwoarang and Baek).

they're plenty of tekken players on this site, a lot of whom still play tekken /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif. i post at TZ under my cuz's account 'techrolltv'. been a member of TZ now for well over three years. i still play both tag and T4 though i prefer VF:evo over both of them now. T4 sux and incomparable to evo and tag is too damn old now (though still very enjoyable from time to time). as to which teams i use, well they usually involve a combo of various characters. the characters usually include: jack2, kuma, lei, hei, bryan, bruce, paul, king, ogres, law and sometimes kuni and jun.

T4 Blows, but I still play TTT on rare occassions. VF4Evo is still the best fighter currently available IMO.

Yoshimitsu,Jin,Lei Wulong and True Ogre are my favourite characters in Tekken 3/TTT.
Favourite partners would probably be Jin and Lei and favourite bowling partners Yoshimitsu ( kinda cheating I know ) and Anna though I only ever play it against my little sisters. For some reason they're amazing at it.I haven't played Tekken for a while now ( played loads of T3 ) but I'm thinking of getting T4 since it's so cheap now but vf4 kicks Tekkens ass IMO.

I had to put Bruce away; a lot of complaining about his "cheese knees", and I gotta admit that I use them when I'm in a jam /versus/images/graemlins/smirk.gif.

And I'm one of the rare ones that loves T4. Oh well /versus/images/graemlins/crazy.gif

    Kaz

Wang & Ling, Bruce & Bryan, Kaz & Lee or Devil, Jin & Heihachi.

Alot of people love T4 afro. I use to prefer TTT but after spending time with T4, I totally prefer it over Tag. But I can't wait for TTT2 though.

Yeah, his knees did get a lot of people griping. I always found his punches and kicks had great mix-up values and his juggles could be completely devastating. Although, WGF to tagged Cheese Knees is still fun. /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

T4 has too many problems for me to list, but that isn't to say it can't be fun to play sometimes.

Yeah I agree, T4 has some issues. My main problem with the game is the backdash. Why did they have to make it so weak ? I understand the whole ''we want the game to be more aggressive'' thing, but isn't that why they added walls, so that you can't backdash forever. They took away a big part of the old strategy, and I think some people who were use to that, didn't like it at all. Characters who are quick and have moves with a decent reach have a slight advantage over the rest. Now add power into the mix and you're in for a headache. Some people just didn't feel like adapting to the new style. I did but that doesn't mean that I prefer it over the old one. Namco has to make the backdash stronger again. I guarantee you if T4, had the old backdash, alot of characters that seem inhumanly powerful would seem human again.

The backdash doesn't seem that bad to me, but a better alternative is to snakedash back which is quicker and dodges as well. I would guess that NAMCO took away some backdash ability since the increased the overall sidestep game.

I believe walls were added when they saw several Korean players primarily Seok Dong Min exploiting the eternal levels to gain victory over his opponent by attacking and then running until time was out. With faster backdashes and the various stepping techniques of Lei Wulong Seok could effectively always win if he dealt quick damage and the ran off time. This is how he won the TTT World Championships if I remember correctly. Exceptionally cheesy, but effective. Seok is my absolute favorite TTT player, but sometimes he would use this just to make sure he won.

Yeah, that would piss me the hell off.

That's my point : since the walls, basically, stops you from backdashing forever, why not make it more potent. The slower characters would benefit from it imo. You definitly can't run forever in T4.

My characters are Kaz, Hei, Jin, Lei, Law and Paul.

I use them all interchangebly in tag teams.

But if I'm feeling especially nasty, I use Hei and Jin or Hei and Paul.

Fav Char, hmmm Can't say anymore but Mishimas are what I play most with(they play similar)

In Tag i'm primarily a Mishima player(Jin,Kaz,Hei) with Team Korea(Baek,Hwoarang) as my next most used team.

In Tekken 4 I play Lee/Violet and Kaz primarily with Steve, Paul, Craig, Heihachi, Law, Bryan, Nina and Julia as my secondary characters.

Not to be braggin but I thought i'd just let the info out/versus/images/graemlins/grin.gif but I can wavedash, foxstep, haha/hoho/silent step, snakedash, shadowstep, crazy legs, hayashida step and a partridge in a pear tree /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

I post at TZ under the same name as here. Hell I'm "SPINMASTER X" wherever I go.

    Fav Char: Yoshi
    I like TK3 the best.
Fav Tag Team: Yoshi/anyone (usually Nina or Paul)

    Favorite: Yoshi
    Teams: Yoshi/Kuni, Yoshi/Anna, Yoshi/King, Yoshi/Nina

Although not very high up in tiers in toe to toe fighting, Yoshi makes up for it in juggle damage... aside from Jin, he can pretty much finish anyone's juggle starter with better damage (and it's redbar too), and also has the best mid tag launcher in the game (launches ducking and low kick parries). Also the fastest netsu. Only drawback is lack of tag cancel stop.

Its too bad tekken isn't as balanced as VF, or I'd still be playing it. At least in VF you can pick anyone you like and do well eventually /versus/images/graemlins/frown.gif

I'm shocked you didn't say Yosh/Wang. They compliment each other pretty well, and waning moon >tag in Yosh> suicide stab is just cruel stuff.

I played that team now and then... but Wang can't take damage for shit ... however he can dish it out decently enough.

I'm a Kuma player in every Tekken I play. In Tag I usually add in Angel, in T4 I only pull out JFSH when losing /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif
