are there any Aoi masters out there? because there doesn't seem to be much on her on VFDC and i find that really disappointing...anyone gonna try and make a dojo for her or whatever anytime soon? or something?

I'm thinking of writing a really brief Aoi guide. It'll basically ignore frames (as I've never studied or looked at a frame guide, even once) and focus on some tricky combos and ways to do some serious damage. Stay tuned.

I consider myself a decent Aoi player, but since I can't find any Archade around here with VF4, I really hadn't any practice with real player yet, but depends on what you want, I may be a little helpful

Finally some aoi players, I think my most effective combo that works on the computer is[4][3][P],[6][6][K][K],[1][K],low risk ground attack or ground throw after that, plus everytime you knock down the com always go in for the low reversal unless they're highkings. /versus/images/icons/grin.gif

After you execute the double stop-> knee, jumping kick, you can punish the opponent if s/he techrolls by dashing forward and performing [6]+[P]+[K],[P][G]. This results in a back stagger. Aoi can follow up with [6_]+[K][K]. It's more damaging, the CPU opponent always techrolls (highking, 10th kyu, and everyone in between), and if the opponent hits the wall a ground throw is guaranteed.

Actually wrote a guide -- just waiting for Myke to get back to me on how I can have it posted... other than the forums.

    Hi GhostDog,

I didn't understand the [6]+[P]+[K]~[P][G] part: why cancel the spinning strike attack after your opponent does a TR?

    THanks.

You don't cancel the spinning strike after the opponent TRs.

The spinning strike-elbow ([6]+[P]+[K], [P]) is useful in punishing opponents who techroll from the face-down, feet away downed position. [6]+[P]+[K] causes a back stagger, but if Aoi continues with [P], the opponent will be knocked down. Cancelling the elbow ([6]+[P]+[K], [P][G]) will cause a back stagger and put Aoi within range for a followup attack, like [6_]+[K][K].

Try it out in the VF4 training mode. Set the training dummy on "crouch", and manuever to his/her back. Then perform [6]+[P]+[K][P], but g-cancel the elbow. You should see that the spinning strike ([6]+[P]+[K])will cause the training dummy to back stagger, and g-cancelling the elbow ([P][G]) will bring Aoi within attacking range.

In support of what Ghostdog is talking about...

The second elbow in [6]+[P]+[K],[P] will whiff in some back stagger situations (setup/timing) making it extra valuable to just G-cancel the second elbow and followup with something else.

[6]+[P]+[K] is a great (and consistent) backstagger tool when your opponent is foolish enough to tech roll in the face-down head-towards position. (I say this despite my stubborn habit of using sidekick where it's a 50/50 chance after the tech roll--IF they techroll)
