Aoi vs Blaze's f+K, rocket discharge setups?

Played a El Blaze player named Skrapple today. Had a hell of a hard time dealing with his /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif > Rocket Discharge > /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/p.gif + /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/g.gif setups . . . mostly because I don't play many El Blazes. He did a good job of waiting until the right time to DM and then pop me with /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f_.gif /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif. That left me wondering what options Aoi has for dealing with that setup. I don't have a clue, and I'd appreciate it if someone could help me out.

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. Sorry about the misleading topic name. I screwed up while typing it in. (I'm sleepy as hell right now. >_>) If a mod could please change it to something more appropriate, that would be appreciated, thanks.

I feel your pain, I have a huge amount of trouble with El Blaze.

As for that move specifically... if he's evading constantly, bait it with something fast like just a standing P, and you should recover fast enough to reverse the kick. If he's zoning, and trying to bait 66K or 66P+K, and then evading those, then instead just dash in and use throw or 2K+G, it might also be possible to guard-cancel a 66P into a throw or reversal... would have to test how to pull that off.

As for the rocket discharge itself... I think you almost always want to duck when it's possible for him to use the stance. That's the simplest way to avoid the stance throw, which does roughly twice as much damage as his mid attacks from stance. Obviously predictable is bad... but it's paramount to learn to learn to duck on reacation, and then try to start reading your opponent, and predicting when they might not throw.

Someone else suggested that I duck against the Rocket Discharge, however, MC /forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/f.gif/forums/images/%%GRAEMLIN_URL%%/k.gif puts you in a cr.v, and it seemed as though I was at too much disadvantage to duck during that type of stun. I guess I'll have to get someone to help me set up the situation so I can test it.

You can't duck if he gets the MC, a crumple is basically a specialized knockdown, there's nothing you can do but input throw escapes. So, in that particular case he's got a guaranteed followup, but I think he has to juggle... that is, you're immune to standing throws during most types of crumples... I can't remember specifically for vital point crumples.

That said, he shouldn't be getting MCed on that move too often. If you're doing something like 66P+K > P, then learn to hit check the first attack, and if he evades, don't go for the second P, and you shouldn't get crumpled.

Ducking is more general rocket discharge advice anyway, though. For someone overusing this specific combo, you're best strategy is to really start punishing your opponent's evade attempts with the use of throws and sweeps. If you can scare your opponent into starting to play a more linear game, you shouldn't have too much trouble with this combo anymore.

Also, might be good to bait the evade with 6K > P+K+G or 33P+K > P+K+G. That should inashi the kick, and then you get some pretty big damage.
