Nin has put together a guide outlining the various situations that net Aoi a guaranteed followup. This is mandatory knowledge for all Aoi players!

Aoi's Guaranteed Follow-ups can be found under the VF4 > Aoi section.

One question, is a light pounce guaranteed after her 270[4]throw?

I always thought it was just difficult to espcape, but not guaranteed.

It's guaranteed, but you cant do it too fast or too slow.

Nice stuff indeed. Just wondering how [4][4][P]+[K] can be guaranteed after a knee inashi from YY. Has this animation been changed in FT? It seems to push the opponent way to far away in Evo.

Also I'm currently testing if ground throw is guaranteed after a reversal of double palm attack. I'm making a really short dash followed by a ground throw and in my eyes it feels guaranteed. It looks kinda crazy because Aoi is moving forward while executing the ground throw. Has anyone else noticed this?

The ground throw after a double palm reversal works for me only if Aoi is back to the wall and put the enemy near the war .
So,she must be close to the opponent thanks to the wall

In Evo it was left/right specific, so for left knee you could only do [3][K] but for right knee you could do [4][4][P]+[K].

In FT, for any knee, you can just do [4][4][P]+[K].

Is anything guaranteed after the double kick reversal? You know, that "dodge" inashi kind of a thing. Happens a lot against Pai.

From what I've seen you're at a disadvantage. Always when I try to attack after a succesful "reversal" of Pai's [9]+[K] I eat something. Really bad and makes me go berserk about Pai (which I feel is one of the worst matchups for Aoi). Really good if Pai's swallow kick is reversable/sabakiable in FT. Don't know if that is a fact yet though.

Thx. That has unfortunately been my observation as well, and I agree that Pai is just about the worst matchup for Aoi. Shun's mule kick also pops up in this category a lot, but Shun's a lot less of a threat in general, so I don't mind that one as much.

Anyway, I ask because in the FT movelists, the effects of reversing these things is listed as 0 damage, "down". So I thought that at least you don't end up in the nonsensical disadv situation in Evo.

Take heart, Pai's swallow kicks can be reversed and sabakied in FT. /versus/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

wow, that's good news. but what does that exactly mean?

    1) is the swallow kick no longer a MDK?
    2) or does Aoi in FT now do damage in MDK/HDK reversals, and I guess she can sabaki them too? if so, which sabaki does this?

    I'd prefer 2), since it'd also cover Shun's mule kick, Lei's uf+k+g, sarah's flip kick, etc - but I can certainly live with 1).

    thx!

My poor Pai. It seems they are intent on making her worse and worse.

I think that belong under the Aoi topic in the Final Tuned section of this Forum

Edit: Not saying it's a bad question though

Wern't guaranteed, he probly done it cause he knew opponent would expect guaranteed damage , not everyone plays guranteed game all the time, how boring what that be /versus/images/graemlins/wink.gif

(Don't mean to be sarcastic but I swear most questions can be answered with a bit of thought /versus/images/graemlins/tongue.gif ).

    Oh man! This is awesome!
Gonna help out my Aoi game a ton!
    Thank you Nin!

just a quick question, how many of these (if any) don't care back over into evo? Since I'm in the US, and Arcades are rare, and VF arcade machines even rarer (for the most part) I'm basically stuck with just my ps2 copy of Evo. Just wondering if I should disregard/modify any of that info, if anyone knows.
