Awesome. Been waiting for a chance to return to Kamurocho.

Yakuza Dead Souls was awesome. Too bad it didnt have the police guy from Yakuza 4. He had cool fighting moves. Hopefully he didnt turn into a zombie so he can be in Yakuza 5. Kiryu would be an awesome character for VF 6 or even Fighters MegaMix 2 (too bad it will never happen).

Should have been nothing like it was in every other game. C'mon, this is a step forward, and I am quite happy with it.

Man, this is another game I'm gonna have to get if this is an arcade perfect port. Even if it is just a PS2 Sega Ages port, it'll be output in 1080p.

More information from the official site.

Members of the original VF2 development team were involved in this conversion.
Both version 2.0 and the rebalanced version 2.1 are playable.
There will be new game features unique to Yakuza 5.
2 player mode will require a separate download.

letterbox is fine by me, they trying to keep original format 4:3.

hold on....this game is ps3 exclusive???

      fuck that.

ill keep playing the arcade perfectly fine model 2 emulator. :D (which we can "mod"! http://www.twitch.tv/suddendeath/b/277015764 :p)

4:3 format is fine, but why not up the resolution to make the usable frame bigger?

woot! pretty excited now for yakuza 5 hehe their trailers always gets me hyped. i do wonder though how are they gonna fit all that content on one disc. since there's already quite a bit to do already in the yakuza games.

I watched the trailer...it looks like you do the following:

      Fight 10%
      Play baseball 20%
Drive fast and do crazy stunts 20%
      Dance 10%
      Fight a bear 20%
      Play random minigames 20%

      Is this correct assumption?

Yo hseiken, it's HABI from Xbox Live. I'm not sure if you're joking.

To answer the question, if it's like the other games (I beat all released here except Dead Souls), then most of the stuff other than fighting is optional. Think action RPG with the option to do quite a bit of other stuff. The other stuff is well done imo so you may find them quite fun. Also, you forgot "getting it on with hot chicks." Nothing too explicit, mind you, more like you gotta win them over by responding well/right gifts/helping them with their problems. Then you do the nasty but the game leaves it to your imagination.

This is an awesome series, my favorite outside of fighters. The stories are great if a bit over the top. Memorable characters. The combat is solid and the skill progression is great. Sometimes you have to earn new moves with fun (at times humorously ridiculous) training. I could go on and on, like I said, it's one of my favorites.
