Arcadia Magazine VF4 EVO Green Book is out! And like Zero Chan said, it comes with a DVD. You can purchase it, if you live in the US with JaMall and do a search for "ba-cha fuxait" with "Tltle" chosen instead of Author or ISBN. I have ordered from them before... like my VF4 Red and Blue Book. It's cheap, and the shipping is extremely fast. I'm getting the green book, as well as the earlier "perfect guide."

Thanks for your information, man. I've just put my order of 3 on JaMall, a very convenient place for everyone to purchase Japanese books. I wish that I will get my green book soon.

Talking about the region-2 DVD, I believe most people on this forum have PS2, right? You can get a Gameshark2 for PS2, version 2.01 or higher, or any version of RegionX, which provides the region free ability for your PS2, and enjoy your green book DVD!!!

Ya bought 3 huh? eBay time? and BTW, have you used Jamall before? Can't wait to get the book too.

Oh, eBay time? That sounds like a good idea. /versus/images/icons/smile.gif No, I actually buy them for other two friends in Bay Area, and I believe they will no doubt love this green book. One thing I would like to complain about JaMall is that they charged me 3 times of "shipping and handling" fee which means I cannot save "a cent" on shipping if I buy more stuff?/versus/images/icons/confused.gif That's not right for me.

However, I will still enjoy my green book for sure.

Got this book two days ago, right before the fun that transpired at Kanayama Sega later. Good thing I got my copies when I did, it was sold out everywhere shortly afterwards!

Anyways, compared to the Perfect Guide, the book is much thinner, at only 130 pages. However, while the Perfect Guide is meant for "beginners, experts, and everyone in between", the Green Book assumes the buyer has already been playing VF for a while. It covers the new characters and additions in the first portion of the book, and then gets into the meat of character and move analysis and combos. However, the lack of frame data will, I'm sure, cause some of the old-timers to weep profusely.

What really makes this book, though, is definitely the DVD. It's a full length feature with a tournament called "Another Bay Area Cup", and a set of exhibition matches. The players are some of Japan's top names in VF4. Want a few examples?

    Chibita
    Susukino Lau
    Edo
    Mukki Akira
    Joe
    Heruru
    Neo Tower
    The Gerira
    Napoleon
    Segahru
    Bun Bun Maru
    Muscles Sarah
    And much, much more!

It's like a year's worth of the best VF movies you could find on the net packed onto a disc full of incredibly entertaining high-level play. Plus, they show clips of the players themselves during and after the matches so you can finally see and hear what some of these guys look like. It's quite interesting to note differences in how people react during play. (Chibita will laugh and talk at what's going on, while Segahru has an almost disturbing poker face no matter how he is doing...)

The DVD is indeed Region 2, meaning it will not work on most US players. If you have a region-free player, import PS2, or hacked DVD-ROM drive, you should be good to go.

I can't stress what an insane value this book is - it's about $13-14 here in Japan. I'd be willing to pay something like $30 for a disc with matches of this caliber. However, if you're paying more than $23 or so for the book in the States, you are being ripped off, so please be careful (^^)

    edit 2:
Ordered it from Jamal for 30$ total with shipping. Just hope it will come here before that big console gaming gathering. I'd like to show the others some high quality VF4 gaming /versus/images/icons/cool.gif

When I ordered the perfect guide and the green book from Jamall, the shipping was only $7, and it's via 2 day UPS here to Arizona, complete with tracking. I guess residents in the US have all the luck. Jamall's website has been down for a day, and I just can't wait to get the damn DVD and books/mooks.

Ey dude! I see you're located in Nagoya at the moment. Do you live there now? I used to live there before earlier but am back in Norway now studying. Which part of Nagoya are you in and which arcades do you go to? If you're staying in Nagoya until the end of the summer holidays next year then we might be able to meet up for a game of Virtua Fighter probably.

I ordered the Law of the Junkies mook too, but I got it from the enterbrain/ascii online shop or something.

    Dear Erwin Tomas:

We were told from the publisher that the first 3000 copies were
gone in one day. Currently they have no schedule for reprinting
and are accepting no order till December.
We would say if you place an order every month from December
you might be able to get one of the first reprinted copy.

We are sorry for your inconvenience.

    Best,
