At last. Toronto Evolves.

It's official. Toronto has VF4 Evolution.

The game will be setup tomorrow afternoon in Video Funland located at Eglington and Brimley.

Let the Evolution begin.

kbcat -- OT: I received my scan converter yesterday, so once I pickup a power supply and rig everything up we can have VF2/3/3TB and VF4PS "get-togethers". W00t!

 

niiice. If we travel to my Father's place one weekend we can build a nice metal case for the boards and converter.

Coo! The nice thing about the converter is we can record direct to vcr if we want. Make some VF2/3 vids for nostalgia's sake.

question. Is it possible to use it for Evo? If so, when (if) Vince moves the Evo to Enter La we would have the best of every possible worlds: nice people, play and direct feed footage.

Yes it will work just fine for EVO. It even has a pass through so it's simple to hook it up to a VCR and a monitor.

There is one caveat with direct recording though. Vince will have to have the EVO hooked up to a hi-res monitor.

Past my bedtime but I thought I'd ring in with some quick input.

First of all, I'm glad Vince is the type of arcade owner that *listens* to his customers. The joysticks are new but not what Toronto likes and it was, unfortunately, set to best 2 out of 3, 30 second rounds; Llan told me that Vince said he'd change the sticks if we wanted better ones and I know the round will go to 3 out of 5 the next time I'm up.

Evo is *fun*. I mean, we were all getting used to the sticks and new stuff so it was a chore just to get comfortable but I absolutely loved the new stages, new moves, new animations. It was excellent.

I thought I'd chime in on Wolf for any version C Wolf lovers out there who are upset over the rumors of a neutered Wolf. Wolf is changed but, baby, Wolf has still got game. His SE gives him another throw input for the opponent to worry about and if you think the knee is butchered switch to the SS since its as strong as it ever was. I think people who are good with Wolf will have to evolve some new ways of looking at their character but can still come out on top.

In other news KBCat picked up Goh and was getting the hang of him when I packed it in and went home and the rest of us were punks and played our primaries from Version C.

I think we all had fun and I'm sure Llanfair, Jag and Matt are still busting heads right now. Lucky sons of...

ah well, off to bed.

Shit yeah, I had a blast.

The sticks aren't *bad* - I would prefer a japanese stick, or a perhaps newer sticks on that machine, but at least they're workable /versus/images/icons/smile.gif

Shortly after 10pm, GE, Roger arrived and changed the machine to 3 rounds when I asked him. I brought up the Versus City option and he seemed indifferent for now...we'll work on him /versus/images/icons/smile.gif It took a few weeks to get VF4 into the VC cabinet.
