Hey there, I wonder if anyone is familiar with "Rage Software" who are probably most famous for their David Beckham Soccer games. I heard that they filed bankruptcy back in January due to their bank suspending their line of credit for projects. My thing is that for almost 2 years I have been eagerly watching for them to release a game called "Rolling". Rolling seemed to be the first sim-like Aggressive Inline game with some quite astounding features. The main being a replay/record mode where you could set up cameras, skate around the areas while they recorded, and then edit all of the footage into a video to showcase your talents in the game. This type of addition seems exceptionally impressive to me. Since, Rage Software has gone under it was reported that Majesco bought all of their titles for publication, but now Majesco is denying any affiliation or acquisitions. It seems now that 5 of the original Rage guys have created a new company called "Indy Games Limited" which is based out of Liverpool and may have found a publisher with "Empire Interactive" at least for a PAL release.

If anyone knows any of these fellas or may be able to find out more about "Rolling" for me I would be eternally grateful. This game looks incredibly promising and I would hate to see it shelved.

Also, last I heard Indy Games Limited was looking for people interested in working for them. If you're in the area look them up. They are a great bunch of guys, who have had an extremely bad run of luck lately.

Yeah Rage had offices in a placed called Warrington which is about half an hours drive or so from Liverpool ( where I live when not at uni ).I remember seeing a regional news program about how they went bankrupt because of the money they ployed into David Beckham soccer ( 2 million or something ) and the game pretty much flopped. They also made a game I actually bought called Twin Calibre whereby the game is on rails like an arcade shooter and you independently control both arms of characters with the analog sticks to fire guns. There were some real nice ideas in the game but it looked like it had been rushed out to make some money even though all the high street shops were selling it at half price!
It's always sad to see game companies go out of business especially the smaller ones but I don't know what has happpened next to Rage.I 'll have a look round for some info for you though I can't promise anything. /versus/images/graemlins/smile.gif

It was almost painful for me to read the manual to Twin Calibre.I'd seen the screen shots off it about a year ago and coupled with the co-op side to the game it looked real fun to play.As I read the manual though I started getting worried ( well I was worried about the price at first since all ps2 games are £40 when they first come out even the real crap ones ).First thing I noticed was a biog on the man you did the music for the game? How does this add to the game?In all the screen shots you could see proper liscenced weaponary but in the final game it was all modified to things like " rock pistol " instead of " Gloc 17 " etc..as they didn't have enough money to use the liscensed names. It didn't stop my enjoyment of it as there were some cool innovative things but I could feel a real sense of desperation creeping into the Rage team as I played through the game.
    You could check out:
    www.twin-caliber.net
and see if it's still going as this was a place to register all your high scores etc..
Anyhow I'll keep trying to look for stuff....

    Heres another
    http://games.ign.com
is a link that list s Rage softwares work and yes Rolling is listed there. You'll need to type in the company your're looking for obviously and I think there's contact details as well.
The links definately work though you may need to do a bit of digging.Supposedly Rage was sold to Swordfish Studios for the price of £1!!Rolling was a multi-platform game but other than that it doesn't tell you much.

Just to let you know Rage Software has basically gone under. The entire company has less than a dozen employees and they are only there to sell off their remaining catelog of games. Some of their members (4-5) formed a new company like I mentioned named "Indy Games Ltd" and supposedly they have purchased rights or had rights to some of Rage Softwares former titles.

IGN, Gamespy, Gamespot, and similar sites all have no information about Rolling since about January or so. The only website with any newer information is Havenskate's Unofficial Rolling Page which was last updated late March. Only thing is that it is rumors and not facts. I just want to find out the fate of the game if possible. I appreciate all of your efforts thus far.

Yeah I knew Rage had pretty much folded. If I find anything new I'll PM it to you since no one else seems too interested with the thread. It's a shame really as some of the games they had lined up seemed quite innovative, a dirty word to game developers these days IMO ( not including vf 4 evo of course ).
