Sorry but I found this too funny not to share. I mean while the article may have it's points, I can only see people like TWP agreeing completely.

Ah, TWP, I could just see you in Africa when white men with rifles invaded. Trying to make some money by selling off some of your own people just because we were no match for the superior firepower and technology of the white man. Only to end up being a slave yourself eventually. What then TWP? I mean, it would have been useless to fight at that point so maybe the next step towards self-preservation would have been to cozy up to the white man and be the best Uncle Tom you could be. Yes? No? Maybe?

I know you wouldn't really be on the side of the marines invading and destroying the black, I mean the blue people's land just to further the financial gains of an evil company. Specially if you're not even going to see a dime of that blood money.
I mean, don't get me wrong, if the blue fucks attack us first, kill a bunch of our innocent civilians and believe that we should all convert to their religion or die, then yeah, fuck 'em but to just invade a peaceful race of beings just minding their business not fucking with us? Just destroying their land and killing them off too... just for money that you will never see? Nah, I don't think you really believe this, you just like to ruffle people's feathers for fun. Damn. I'm glad I'm 40 and not 18. I remember having emotional connections with the music to which I was listening. I remember how it could effect my mood. Nice to have outgrown some of that rawness. Avatar effected me more than I imagined - probably 17 times more. If I had been half my age - I might have exploded in the theatre.

 

This makes no sense, how does me being loyal to humans, mean I'd sell out my tribe to white people? Is that because of my survival of the fittest attitude? Only way to know that I'm fit is too fight to the death isn't it? Just by staying alive, you are not changing your "fit" status. Or are you referring to the great grandmother comment? Fact: if everything in the past did not happen as it did. I would not exist as I am today. I am part of that man, as well part of my grandmother. I am not ashamed of anything that I am. In fact while I think my game skills are lacking, I do find myself to be pretty damn awesome and that my genealogy should continue. I am not only african, I got a good deal of whitey in me and thusly I want to take others shit.

Now this guy in the movie changed into a member of the inferior species. That's not even an option for me, we can't poof and become white/black here no matter how we try, sing, dance, sway, whatever. Imagine if everyone decided to turn into blue tree huggers? Where would that leave humans? That's like reverse evolution.

Back to slandering the character and the film

Yknow what bro, if I signed up for an outfit knowing damn well what I was signing up for; I know damn well I'd see it through to the end. The argument however is that he didn't have any comradeship with the men in his company. In fact they gave him grief over being in the wheelchair. Grief he didn't have to get when with the smurfs. If he would have popped into that peace as a crippled bastard that bitch wouldn't even have lifted a finger as the dogs ate the shit out of him.

Being accepted is a HUGE part of it. Similarly why some black people who grow up around white people will practically denounce other black people because they've learned how to be accepted into white society who in some cases do the same. Now if I was a lowly african, who was nothing but a pawn? You may be right; especially if I had value among my people.

Look at 300. Can you blame the hunchback for turning on Leonidus really? Do you think he would actually be accepted with the Spartans? Be able to bare children even?

Loneliness is a bitch. In closing I think it had less to do with the main character wanting to save the tree people and more with him finding a family to call his own.

The real moral of the story was, don't treat someone like shit and then expect him to stay loyal to you. He just might end up fucking running on your flying ship and throwing hand grenades in the engines.

Do I think the guys a traitor? Yep, but that's because I'm looking at it from the perspective of a team player. I've been one all my life. Companies pay me good money due to my reputation to get shit done so that we as a unit can make shit happen.

Dude just killed all his boys without a second thought about their families.

Also I have difficulties understanding people again. I wouldn't want to live in Pandora. It would be a boring place.. I didn't think the movie was immersive, or that the 3d representation was something extraordinary. In fact, I would propably have enjoyed the movie more on normal 2D, but luckily the movie didn't try to assault the viewers with the 3d towards the end like it did in the beginning. It in no way looked very convincing 3D. Just the standard characters and objects are planes-on-different-distances while the depth-sensation in the skin of an individual object was not there.

I can see this technique used more in the movies in the future though, it WAS well done. Goodness knows what the movies will cost in the future..
